@jcrabapple She is speaking a timeless truth. There are countless examples in editorial cartoons that show some version of wealthy people diverting the attention of poor folks by giving them 'reasons' to fight one another, or giving middle-class folks a reason to blame poor people and immigrants while their pockets are being picked by the rich and powerful. Y'all may have seen the one with the men and their plates of cookies? The first version of that that I saw was from the 1800's.

Hey Taylor :o) What are those key features? btw I made a list of news orgs & journalists so that I can better track news. Many of them were very active for a few days in mid-November, then poof! I don't follow those, but a (very) few, like you, managed to hang in there :o)

    I went to my local farm today to pick up my CSA, and on the way back home I listened to an interview with a farmer in Vermont who said that his entire crop, everything he has grown thus far, is gone. The past two days, they were canoeing over farm land covered by water. He estimates $350k+ losses.

    Having the ability to see remotely threads by default like remote profiles is something that can interest you?

    Ie: that means to see all public messages especially messages not federated with your instance.

    sea ice remains on its own this year compared to any other July in our satellite record. Keep in mind when looking at this graph that the y-axis interval is 1,000,000 km². This is a massive deviation from the previous record for the date.

    The farm my kid gets CSA produce from in MA has completely flooded, ruining everything that was grown for summer, as well as the fall. Climate change is ALREADY HAPPENING.

    Okay. I've got to get serious about getting off of . I'm addicted! I admit it!! But Elmo Muskrat is killing the place, and the expanded hate profiles...hoo-boy. It's bad. A major struggle for me with my account is that I don't want it to end up super political but I want some politics. I don't want to be out of the loop, but I don't want that twitter vibe (IYKYK 😬 )
