After 9 months of protests in the streets,after the brutally stolen elections in #Serbia after #Davos24 it is clear why we cannot replace this mafia government and dictator Vučić.The entire Government of the Republic of Serbia is lobbying for Rio Tinto,and lithium mining.And it is wellknown that where Rio Tinto passes, it remains a wasteland like on Mars. We'd rather die in the streets by the bats of the police and para-police than let Rio Tinto poison us.

Fediverse is diverse by design. It can be used for many purposes, run by many people, and setup in many different ways.

So the few times I've been to the US - once to California (which admittedly is different, on vacation rather than work), once to Corpus Christi, once to Arkansas (near Memphis) - I found myself boggling at how much open asphalt there was between stores.

I wondered if it was just because they had the space to expand, so they just did. It didn't occur to me that there were minimum parking rules. It was always very easy to park. Everywhere looked sort of empty/unpopular.

The inciting incident this time: users signing up with the n-word in their usernames. Using the word “cracker”, however, was a bannable offense.

Bluesky has not responded for over 36 hours as of writing. Devs are blocking protestors. Timelines are filled with variations of:

“No more normal posting until my Black friends and family are safe.”
