To my mind, there’s no doubt that jihadist factors behind #Hamas would gladly let #Palestinians die for their cause. Their attack makes no sense otherwise.

I fear it will turn out to be nothing more than a cruel PR campaign to recruit more #jihadists, in which the Palestinian people’s role will be to simply to be collateral that can be said to have died by Israel.

But. The campaign is far from over. What will determine if they are to be successfull or not will be how #Israel finishes this.

With bleak news form Israel & Gaza, I think the only solution is that we should return to international co-operation.

Looking at the death spiral the situation has been on for a long time, it feels to me there were less people dying when UN peacekeeping forces were there.

Left to their own, the poison between of the two sides keeps getting thicker, not thinner. Propaganda keeps getting stronger, arguments more conservative.

Declaring the call had to be made with intense difficulty. Every parameter declared with precise description formally, so it could guess the string right.

Then it occurred to me: They didn’t want you to succeed, they wanted you as #free #labour to #train their #AI first, only second to do your business.

What worries me most about #strongimmunity #antivax crowd is not the challenging of vaccinations, not at all. Scientific blunders like Wakefield are always falsified eventually.

What worries me is the high prevalence of ”the weak deserve to die of covid” -attitudes among the yoga bourgeoisie that spread within the health-conscious young.

This and notions of bodily purity as basis for policy are nothing but #farright ideas. The only place they deserve to be is thrown in the trash!

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I believe a significant portion of #drug use, especially #recreational, especially #cocaine, is there because on a level it ”makes sense” to people.

Living in a hyperindividualistic society, fixated on winners, shunning losers, high standards of: ”take what you need and don’t apologise, never quit & you are worth it!” are unrealistic for most sane & normal ppl.

Getting high lets people people who actually believe this BS to fake it till they make it! 🤷‍♂️

This couldn’t be farther from the truth.

In imperial Russia, people were property to be bought and sold as much as in the west. In fact #slavery was abolished in USA and Russia the same year.

The people most likely to say ”Do your own research” do no more research than anyone else. However, saying so often correlated with holding more incorrect beliefs about scientific results, not less.

I’m sure this comes as a surprise to no-one, but it has now been studied. 🙂

The term #DYOR helps people to appear as scientific, informed & responsible, but online the term has morphed into a rallying call for distrust in anyone else & cherry-picking confirmatory evidence.

As to paying for API access:

I do think it’s fair for companies like #reddit and #twitter to get their money back on what it costs them to provide access to their data. They normally monetize that when you access it through their own app.

But how much is appropriate? This is still data they didn’t create. The users created this data and to have it locked behind paywalls is morally questionable.

It also hurts the network effect, because links to that data become costly.
