Just switched my browser to #firefox from Chrome. Mainly because of their privacy policies and lack of data mining. However, I use Google Meet, which just doesn't run as well on non-Chrome browsers. Any advice?

@birv2 You can try Jitsi, Element, Signal, for video chat...

is easiest to onboard new users to and requires no installation or accounts. The official free instance needs a signin for the moderator only.

@Em0nM4stodon Favourite is a vague term to me. If you mean the one app that is absolutely irreplaceable, that would no doubt be the blazing fox of fire.

And no, the forks can't really replace it.

I recommend continuing your posting but adopting a more friendly approach. I'm a former atheist and have had many civil discourses with polite atheists.

Claiming to reject without hating it would not be sincere rejection.

Also, hate does not and should not necessitate according to our understanding.

My ThinkPad broke down after mere two years of service, so I’ve got to try out way earlier than expected. Transplanting the SSD from the defect laptop went without a hitch, so I didn’t have to set up Linux from scratch. Some first impressions:

· Assembling everything really took five minutes and was super easy. It’s a comforting thought that replacing any components other than the display will be just as easy.
· Both keyboard and touchpad are way more precise than ThinkPad’s. I didn’t realize how bad typing on the ThinkPad was until I tried this keyboard.
· Unfortunately, the big keyboard keys apparently left no space for a proper navigation block. Only arrow keys and way too small, no PgDn/Pos1 keys. And no physical middle mouse button either.
· I still need to get used to the display but it does have a lot more vertical space thanks to the 3:2 side ratio. Great to actually get work done.
· Shipping from Taiwan, ugh…

@Internxt Good article but would be better if the writer mentioned clear pro and con list for each. Also list closed source as con for those that are. Also, doesn't have enabled by default and the separate encryption app isn't officially fully supported last I heard.

  • save my life or someone else's
  • help out someone who isn't ready to migrate yet
    So definitely not for myself unless I absolutelt have to then in a VM.
