it seems pretty neat, if not a bit complicated (never been into notion style notes), wouldn't mind recommending it to people who like fancy interfaces I guess

I mean, it is open source and promises to be offline first and encrypted and all, but having it use their sync servers by default when you start the app and not having the data in a plain to read format is a bit eehhhh compared to even obsidian

@nixCraft What we need is to sell laptops in stores at affordable prices with preinstalled.

Otherwise, relying on people to learn and install it themselves offers little to no hope.

Google is doing everything to drive Firefox users with adblock extensions crazy. Some Firefox users are still experiencing a 5 second delay when trying to view YouTube content.

YouTube's response: Pay for premium, switch to Chrome or disable your ad blocker.

@nixCraft This move doesn't make complete sense. I like Firefox but it doesn't even block ads out of the box unlike Librewolf and @brave and I'm not seeing any noticeable slowdown or delay on @brave... Is it because I'm logged in?

I need to resize a GNU/Linux desktop for a broken display where the bottom 60 pixel rows no longer work. I know about xrandr and I already know how to use that to solve similar problems, but does anyone know if a GUI tool exists to set custom screen sizes that are not offered by default for those that are less familiar with the CLI?

@thomzane Perhaps not an elegant solution but definitely the easiest and quickest: the buttons on the monitor to resize/shift the screen image...?

The only reason the app has a high rating in the is because of people who review the audio books instead of the actual app. 🙄🤷‍♂️ If people actually reviewed the app as they should be, the rating would be far lower as the app has a lot of performance problems and is prone to crashing! It’s annoying how little effort and resources is putting into this app on iOS, does it run any better on ?

Shame doesn’t currently have an subscription service.

I also had a good experience testing @Jami. Apparently, it can work without servers, relays, etc.

More censorship: Instagram has suspended the account of our video correspondent, Leila Warah.

This is blatant censorship of Palestinian journalism during this ongoing violence.

We demand that her account be restored immediately.

It is our understanding that this suspension comes after several Israeli soldiers shared Leila’s account on Facebook pages, asking others to submit fraudulent reports of guideline violations.

The Israeli government has cut off food, water, and fuel to 2 million people inside Gaza as part of its campaign to stamp out Hamas terrorism. Collective punishment is not only contrary to international law, it is inhumane and illogical. It is what my community once endured in World War II, all because of the actions of others who happened to share our ethnicity. Have we learned nothing? How will this possibly help deescalate the violence rather than radicalize many more? It is madness.
