@rolle my "something else" is appreciation of the values and principles of fellow users, who either chose the Fediverse long ago, or are birdsite refugees who fled the hatefulness that the latter became.

    Not loving how the LinkedIn page (marketing bio) states: "...From a defense perspective, it is imperative that the US adopt this before other countries; whoever adopts first will gain an unstoppable advantage."

    Using pseudo-patriotism to try to drive a bidding war and buzz is a nice touch.

    @LeftistLawyer exactly, and not on LinkedIn, either. I can’t tell whether it’s either tacky, amateur or sensationalist marketing, or the result of too many graphic novels. At least they skipped rhetoric like “for the sake of the free world.”

    Used to be we would talk about how important it is to keep our tropical forests and other areas of vegetation intact, because they act as carbon sinks, absorbing CO2 from the air during photosynthesis.

    But even this — one of the most basic science facts we learned in high school biology — is now in jeopardy.

    The next project I’m going to start after trying to systemize the mutual aid network (without functioning like charities)

    is a citizens coalition.
