    Awesome, thanks! I tried a recipe once for "Mexican fermented vegetables" or something similar which purported to be common in sit down restaurants somewhere in Mexico. Served on a little plate as finger food or something, chunks of carrots and peppers as I recall. I did the fermentation but it just wasn't great so I composted the rest. I probably should have kept at it!

    Does anyone else use the "smash them in their skin" approach to preparing their garlic cloves?
    I remove the cloves, cut off the hard part, smash them with a knife and then slide the skin off. I used to do the "moist hands, rub the cloves together as hard as you can" method but I like this approach better.

    I do not understand gun humpers, I really don't. I have guns, I know how to use them and I lock them up and worry about how to dispose of them! I can't sell them, someone might let them get into the hands of a murderous killer. So I warehouse them (they were all inherited). One of these days I'm going to buy a belt sander, mount it somewhere with the belt pointing up and film myself grinding these damn guns into metal powder. I'm lazy so I haven't done it yet but I will.
