We have one day of plus 5-10 degrees, heavy rain, strong south breeze, pushes rain into every crevasse. I usually put vaseline or silicone around the door rubbers. They are frozen too, and will rip off when I open the door. Then, I own a cover for the windshield but could not find it, so I made another.. and didn't have it on, because it was too windy to stay on and things were getting damaged anyway. Then, it went into the deep freeze.. the water froze 1/2" deep in driveway
The rescue I foster for did a big adoption event today at the local PetSmart, and we had a few people who had gotten their applications approved early and just needed to meet the kittens and decide which one to take home... and all three of my remaining L-litter babies were adopted! I'm ALL OUT OF BABIES!* 😭 #CatsOfMastodon#FosterKittens

It's pronunced Gh , as 'Gueuler' in french (to yell). He was yelling really loud the first week we met him, poor hungry abandoned thing. We call him now Vampirek, or Petit-Pirek, ou Chouquette, things that match better his temper now we know him.

Being an adult means realizing that while you love cat-sitting, having an actual cat will not work for you, because OMG, a week and there is so much cat hair! Everywhere!
@oliverandrich@vicgrinberg then get a dog and never wash your floors again 😂 we picked our floors by taking a handful of the pet hair off our floors and sprinkling it over the samples and then picking the one that you couldn't see the hair on very well 😂it's brilliant
For my hackathon project I did try to make CFA (Cat Factor Authentication, using your cat's microchip as a second factor) a thing 😆 The project did win a prize, but more for the experimentation then the actual result https://wpengine.com/blog/hackathon-december-2023/
A very relaxing #Caturday. I briefly interrupted my nap to go downstairs to sing along to the humans playing the piano. However, there was an unapproved, non-household human there, so I felt a bit shy. I stared at him for a while to establish that he was OK. I'm now back to doing what I do best. #CatsOfMastodon

@Colin But you are so much more the very special one that you are groomed in the way all that are royal are tended and groomed. PH was merely showing you the dedication and respect of your high station. I hope you have forgiven her. Besides, I think she wanted to show Eric he wasn’t the only special one. You know he was jealous that you were getting groomed, right?
@Catawu I had seeds! She removed the seeds, which was horrific, but I was pleased when they were gone. However, she then attacked me with the flea comb because it's Spring.
@finestructure I have often toyed with the idea of taking a close-up picture of the contents of the bowl when it is full, printing that, cutting that photo into a shape, laminating that, trimming to the right size, then putting the laminated piece in the bottom of the food bowl, all to see if this is just a visual thing or just a cat-jerk thing. Alas, the aforementioned process is so complicated that I probably will never do it.

Also werde ich heute mit diesem kleinen Hundemädchen (1 Jahr alt) beschäftigt sein. Ich muss sie beschützen, weil sie furchtbar Angst vor meinem Katz' hat, der eigentlich sehr cool mit Hunden ist. Aber sie ist so klein 🤏....

I think this works for cats as well as humans. He is too close.
@thepoliticalcat I spent most of the day defending my box from an Eric incursion. I did manage to get a good sleep in it eventually when he went to sleep on MY scratcher.

Teddy (obviously not hands-on, showed up in a Tux!) is helping me decide which alternator to choose for my engine. Stock is under 100a, but Teddy and I are trying to find a 130a to fit.
They are really expensive, we may have to cut back on cat treats this month? We all have sacrifices to make. 😽

I hope everything works out. I hate car problems. We just have one car, so I try to keep it in good condition. It's been a good car for me.
@Caiotekit I've always had to have two cars. When we lived in the country full time, in the 80s, there's no garage to get it now, but in the city, I can tow it to the garage, it's just the wait, maybe 2 weeks for an appointment.
I went out to scream at the humans for abandoning me. I first screamed at them in the street, but insisted on coming back in through the back to annoy them. #CatsOfMastodon#Caturday#Cat
@thepoliticalcat There was a quiet one at the beginning, but the humans didn't get most of it because they were trying to get me to go inside through the front door portal, but I took a while sitting there to decide that the back was a better way. 😀
In my opinion, cats are not owned, they tolerate ;)
The one I mentioned was not to be refused, it simply wanted to stay, and that is what it did. And was always on my side. An enigma. If only it would have talked...
