unfa, Can't Ctrl+C something because it's baked to pixels? Now you can!
NormCap is an unusual screen capture tool. It doesn't capture images, but extracts text from a selected area of your screen.

Vivaldi, Our built-in Calendar tool is like a personal assistant, but less judgy. 😏
Tell us what you like about the Vivaldi Calendar if you use it! 👇🏻
#productivity #Calendar #browser #VivaldiBrowser #Technology #tech
toran, @Vivaldi is the calendar app available as its own mobile app?
Vivaldi, @toran
It's not, unfortunately.
joplinapp, French Did you know you can add tags to organise your notes even better?🏷️ Categorise notes according to #context, highlight #priority levels, and track tasks with #status updates. Keep your notes sorted and accessible! #Productivity
thefrankring, @joplinapp
I never needed to use tags. For me, folders are usually good enough to manage all my notes.
Dricc, French @joplinapp I love your 'Did you know' posts! I don't really understand Context Tags: anything I do is either work or personal, so I would have to have every single note tagged 😕
SirTapTap, #Productivity rules:
FILTER THOSE EMAILS, CITIZEN!
Get a stupid weekly email from someone you can't block? Automated crap? Create a filter/rule to mark it as read, archive it, delete it, etc.
Click unsubscribe on EVERY Brand email, and make a filter for "we've updated our privacy policy" those go straight to read + trash for me.
Similarly, manage the hell out of your notifications on mobile etc. I just turn everything off by default, which is usually ideal.
faoluin, @SirTapTap The problem I've found with some Unsubscribe links is that they track that to say if your email is active, and some unscrupulous companies will use or sell that for even more marketing purposes.
SirTapTap, @faoluin That's a concern though if it's a real company you actually signed up for, they should already know that. Mostly a concern for spam emails IMO.
Probably well known, but that's why spam folders block images too, easy way to track opens
devontechnologies, Tip of the day: With the mass of information often found in a #DEVONthink database, color can be a helpful visual indicator when browsing your documents. Many people know you can apply color labels on your documents, similar to the Finder, but here’s how to also color your <strong>tags</strong> in #DEVONthink. #pkm #productivity #tagging #tipoftheday https://www.devontechnologies.com/blog/20211214-color-tags-devonthink
woidla, @devontechnologies Any plans to implement colored tags in DevonThink ToGo?
devontechnologies, @woidla It’s not on our short-term list but, naturally, our list for improvements is long 🙂
cairobraga, hey fedizens, what's poppin'? I need your opinions on #productivity apps of the #NoteTaking #ProjectManagement #Kanban #Whiteboarding spectrum of functionalities and of the #OpenSource nature. think #Notion, #Miro and #Trello, but I'm actually torn between #AffinePro, #Anytype and #AppFlowy. what say y'all? thanks in advance! #FediHelp #FOSS #SelfHost
cairobraga,
AAMfP, @cairobraga
Yes, but you don't have to imagine that you need to become a hacker. 🙂
Look at here https://blog.logseq.com/whiteboards-and-queries-for-everybody/ and relared, mentioned links like

krparadis, I would apologize for being so far behind on podcast listening but this is the « I’ll Do The Procrastination Episode Tomorrow » episode.

Another great episode from @chidgey with @hotdogsladies
Good info on #productivity #gtd & #procrastination
mathgum, Russian We recently talked about a free personal time tracking app that we are preparing for release. And very soon we'll share it with all of you. Visually it is mega simple. No complicated dashboards with a bunch of different colors. Only the most important and very functional. We hope this is one of those "as nature intended".
Until then, here are the first screenshots with the task list and timer list. In a light and dark theme to taste.

sharan, Russian @mathgum I applaud your efforts. Functionality is the most important thing, but don't forget that eye candy is something most people get attached to first.
Don't underestimate the importance of shininess of UI.
browniee, our obsession with #productivity often comes at the expense of our mental well-being. We're constantly hustling, but sometimes, I wonder if we're forgetting to just be human and enjoy the moment.
sharan, Do you have a morning ritual?
sharan, @copdeb no one's perfect. Tomorrow's another day. Start again
sharan, @chriscochrun a lot of stuff. Good job
mia, This week's interview is with @HailleyGriffis, the most efficient person I know. She motivates me on so many levels and ticks off goals like items on a grocery list. Learn from a #productivity master! #goals #selfimprovement #personaldevelopment #zettelkasten

bbelderbos, Really enjoying Cal Newport's new Slow #Productivity book.
It makes you reflect on doing meaningful work while not burning out, following these 3 principles:
- Do less (!),
- Work at a more maintainable pace, and
- Obsess over the quality of your work.
Recommended!
helgztech, @bbelderbos I've found some of his ideas useful. I wish I'd had his advice about an academic career years ago.
bbelderbos, @helgztech yeah his books have become staples for me I tend to re-read every so often to stay productive!
rusticorn, Happy to say GitUI finally supports commit signing (with gpg and ssh): https://github.com/extrawurst/gitui/releases/tag/v0.26.1 #writteninrust #git #productivity #rustlang 🦀
maxleibman,
Finish task on to do list.
Look at to do list to check task off.
Discover task is not on list.
Write task down.
Check task off.
maxleibman, I earned those fucking endorphins.
davidhmccoy, You got it!
That’s where my mind goes whenever anyone mentions “endorphins.”

jbzfn, 🤔 Why Don't I Like Git More? | Mathew Duggan
I don't feel like I can always "control" what git is going to do, with commands sometimes resulting in unexpected behavior that is consistent with the way git works but doesn't track with how I think it should work. Instead, I need to keep a lot in my mind to get it to do what I want.
Fred, Still looking for #productivity people and applications to follow in #Mastodon It's the only reason I still go onto Twitter. Please share any with me worth following, thanks. #todo #pkm #notesapp #todoapp #calendarapp
Neblib, @Fred most people on pkm.social tend to be good follows since they are already self selecting to have their accounts there and there is the Guppe Group https://a.gup.pe/u/pkm , and tools like Obsidian and Logseq have accounts too.
moons, 👋😀 Hallo, Leute!

Vivaldi, It's tough being back to work after a long Easter break!😅
Tell us what's been the most absurd thing you've ever found yourself researching, while you should have been working? 🙃👇🏻
Vivaldi, @sirber 🫣
erilun06, @Vivaldi
How to get Firefox (and windows) to work with me not against me (I am not allowed to use Vivaldi at work, and it's super annoying) without add-onsAt least I found the global colour replacement option in settings so I could not get blinded by the lightmode
sharan, Well, this is something I don't see every day.
Do you use TickTick, Todoist or something else entirely?
CodeMacLife, @sharan I use Apple Reminders. However, I’ve been testing Todoist. How do you find TickTick?
sharan, @CodeMacLife
It's great. Rough around the ages when it comes to UI, but basically, TickTick is to Todoist what Android is to Apple
nekohayo, I had a sudden "what if…?" intuition for a potential #productivity speedup in my #opensource bug reporting workflow when tables of data are involved, and… it turns out that it is actually possible.
As you can see in this short demonstration I recorded below, you can paste #LibreOffice #spreadsheet cells into a #GitLab ticket, and it automatically converts it to a proper #MarkDown table. It just works! What is this sorcery!? 🤯 What a time to be alive.
gregorni, @nekohayo Woah, that is crazy!! 🤯
nekohayo, @davidrevoy
I just thought about it out of the blue: "Boy, writing tables by hand sucks... especially when I already assembled my info in a spreadsheet while benchmarking anyway… Hmmm, I wonder if the GitLab folks secretly implemented something crazy like parsing stuff pasted from spreadsheeting software. Let's try that for the lulz."
joplinapp, French Did you know Joplin to-dos are the perfect way to optimise and manage your task lists? Create and cross out your checklists, add descriptions, attachments and subtasks. You can also set an alarm as a reminder! #productivity #taskmanagement

protonprivacy, New week, new #productivity features on #ProtonMail for #iOS:
▶️ Read through emails faster – when you take action on one email, the next one will now be shown automatically. You can enable this feature from Settings (“Jump to next email”).
🗓️ See main calendar event details in the invite email itself, thanks to our new Calendar widget.
☑️Check your availability simply by tapping on the invite widget in the email – it will take you straight to the #ProtonCalendar app.
Kdude, @protonprivacy Thank you for your reply and the suggestion... however, apparently you're not an iPhone user because they don't work;
- The text zoom setting only applies to the interface, not the content.
- pinch to zoom is horrible. Because then you would need to to pan/horizontally scroll through every few words of a sentence to read it. It's not usable at all. (On an iPad this is less bad.)
It's such a basic feature, zooming text to read mail... 😞 this kills productivity.
protonprivacy, @Kdude Thanks for following up. We'll likely be looking into adding font options within the app itself at some point in the future, we just don't have a timeline to provide for this at the moment.
