I'm a historian, tutor, editor, beginning gardener & aspiring self-hoster. My research focuses on early medieval #hagiography & its function in the pastoral care of the laity, so I think a lot about the intersection of ideology, rhetoric, & praxis.
I enjoy travel & (smartphone) photography, museums, big cities but also nature. I hope to use this account to share my travels and to promote ancient & medieval studies on the fediverse. @medievodons@histodons
Hello world! We are the first tech union in the UK and Northern Ireland run by tech workers, for tech workers. We are excited to expand our voice and reach the #Fediverse.
Comfort Zone is a podcast all about pushing the hosts outside of their, well, comfort zone.
Each week @matt, @nileane, and @ChrisLawley will talk about a new piece of technology that they've been using — and one of the hosts will surprise the others with a challenge to mix things up in their technology stacks!
Hello #introduction post!
My name is Juan Bagnell. I post ALL over the internet as SomeGadgetGuy.
I studied theatre in college, then got a job managing tech purchases for a DOE facility.
I worked in LA as a commercial casting director. Now I primarily cut #tech content with a heavy focus on consumer electronics and tech politics.
Happy to meet you! Let's nerd out!
I guess it’s #introduction time. Greetings, I’m Zipo-Chan, an autistic artist that primarily does #fanart of the video games and cartoons that I love. As of right now, it’s just a hobby, though I am an artist for the website Chao Island, so there’s that. I hope I can meet some nice people here.
Right, with couple of toots already out it's time for an #introduction!
We're the Middle Ages in Modern Games conference: we're a small independently run annual event that specialises in short-form, written papers on how medievalisms and medieval societies are used in modern games and gaming.
If that sounds good, do follow us and read along as we post links to our papers! Boosts on this welcome so we can find interested people.
I write at the intersection of #space, #science, #tech, and pop culture (#scifi). I’m the host/writer of PBS’s YouTube show Far Out. I’ve got a book on stargazing coming out in 2023 and co-edited the Arthurian anthology SWORD STONE TABLE.
I have a Wired column where talk about #gaming as a parent. I contribute to #StarTrek dot com and co-host of the podcast Desi Geek Girls.
There's a steady influx of new users on https://mapstodon.space for the last couple of days. Welcome everyone, glad to have you here!
I wonder if the instance has been mentioned somewhere in particular recently. @geomob maybe?
As usual, an #introduction post is always a good idea. Also, please consider supporting the server if you can (and if you plan to stick around!): https://patreon.com/mapstodon
Shalom, I'm Feedback! I'm a #Jewish musician, photographer, and techie currently working in cybersecurity. Like a lot of online Jews, I've been feeling a much stronger pull towards Jewish community spaces in the wake of current events, and was extremely excited to learn about the existence of #mazeldon ! Looking forward to getting to know people here! #introduction
Hello new server! I’m a musician/artist in London, UK. The most recent time I had to describe what I do I said it was ‘acoustic and electronic improvised music, experimental composition, and DIY publishing.’
I improvise on baritone saxophone or live electronics, and my band Sloth Racket has been together since 2015. I make zines as tools for improvised performance, co-run the Luminous label, have been known to organise gigs, and lead the City University Experimental Ensemble.
#INTRODUCTION: I’m a curious creature and an engaged observer. #RoadCyclist, #NordicWalker, husband, father, grandfather, #humanist, and #criticalThinker. I was a #caregiver to my mother for 15 years. I recently quit ALL social media and started fresh on Mastodon. I haven't felt this liberated since 2009. I’m a dreamer and a thinker, and still learning as I go. This I know: We cannot survive as a species without the willingness to help each other.
#WritersCoffeeClub#writing Feb 1: Tell us about yourself, published work, WIP or anything else people should know.

Tagline: Join Ume, Shiomi, and Tomo as their relationship develops. In a creepy world where “love” never dies.
#writerscoffeeclub#Writing 1. Intro and update: Introduce yourself and/or update us on your writing journey since your last intro.
I am a web novelist of Yuri Paranormal Romances. I am working on my third light novel which is in serialization: "For Love of A Konbini Idol" Now in its second volume.
I've been a long time proponent and participants in open source, starting I think back when I added Unicode #fonts support for #POVRay. Got sucked into Multimedia and some #3DModeling and animation #GameArt for one of the earlier large publishers. I stepped up my #OpenSource game by becoming one of the core developers then board members for #Inkscape. Got sidelined a bit, but getting involved again.
I'm a foodie. I love to eat and say awesome sauce.
I love animals. I have a doggie named Dijon. I have a bunch of feral cats, in fact one of my cats just had kittens. So when you get the chance, tell my mom congrats, she's a grandma again! Lol.
I'm a musician. I play instruments, but I also mix and master my own music.
Anddd I went to Bishop Chatard High School in Indy. I'm a Hoosier fan (new Hoosier fan, I'm on year 4). #Introduction
#Introduction I am Saara Kamppari-Miller, and I am a #designer geeking. When I was studying #HCI in grad school I bought a Geek mug, and so when I needed a new online handle, this mug gave me inspiration. I am currently an Inclusive #DesignOps Program Manager in the Intel #Accessibility Office, meaning that I am helping UX teams adopt #InclusiveDesign practices. #Gardening is my favorite way to relax and get away from technology. I absolutely love living in a walkable and bikeable neighborhood.
One of the things on my to-do list is to post a personal #introduction and today is the day that I will cross that off!
You can call me Sherry. I love to laugh, and am very joyful and fun overall. Wife to one man, mom to one daughter, and grandma. Owner of 2 #parrots and 2 #dogs (1 of which is my #ServiceDog). We live in a 5th wheel in the midst of one of Michigan's Amish communities on a secluded lot in a beautiful area. BA in #music - currently love playing my #Tyros5 and my small #ukulele collection. Use my music to worship #Jesus, am a #Bible believing #Christian living out the Scriptures 24/7 by holding God's hand throughout my life, failing only when I let go. Always aware I am His vessel. “Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent” (Thomas Campbell) is how I deal with most things. A strong conservative politically, I choose to focus instead on the eternal rather than the temporal in my relationships, online and off, and on loving those that God puts in my path, meeting them where THEY are. Love to cook, and eat to minimize the effects of my disabilities as much as I can since 2004. For me that's been #lowcarb and/or #keto and/or #ketovore and/or #carnivore almost exclusively. Been using social media since my #Compuserve and local #BBS days in the 80s, and my interest remains strong to these #Fediverse times because meeting interesting people is such a delight and joy!
It's been a while so here's an updated #introduction.
My name's Chris and I'm a #neurodivergent 50 yr old geek who loves talking about video games, science, and nature. I do my gaming exclusively on a #SteamDeck. Currently obsessed with #Balatro, #Hades2, and emulating my favorite #RetroGames.
I'm a Mental Health Advocate and Peer Support Specialist with a passion for helping people. I'm always looking to connect with new people so reach out to me anytime!
@schrodingerchan Also, also, consider posting (and then pinning) an #introduction post to help even more people find you and get an idea what you're about here :)
Do we do #introduction posts here? Hello, I'm new here. This is a selection of what you can expect from me in general. Skies and #clouds, #nature, #animals and #food 😁
