I had bad déjà vu sleep last night after learning just yesterday about raids on #Seattle#queer bars over the weekend. (I organized the initial political response to the 2009 Atlanta Eagle #raid.)
Seeing media coverage today is making me feel a lot better, because the local community there is clearly fighting back.
We fought hard for our right to self-expression; #Stonewall was nearly 55 years ago now.

While finally getting all my blog posts published on my newly updated website, I realized most of the followers I now have probably didn't read those first posts. It's amazing to reflect on how much the community I'm a part of here has grown since I began publishing these in February! And heck, doing some light proofreading and editing as I uploaded the piece, I realize my voice as a writer has grown too!
I don’t think it would be news to anyone that #Stonewall have always been progressive. Some want to define it in political terms as being on the Left, but really LGBTQ+ rights should just exist alongside all other rights.
#Badenoch is deliberately mischaracterising the organisation by saying it offers legal advice that is contrary to the Equality Act. This is not true.
"The Nightmare Continues": Homophobic and Transphobic Party PO Prevails.
For those unfamiliar with Polish politics:
We had an eight-year-long conservative government led by the PiS party (Law and Justice). A few days ago, elections took place that would determine the possibility of forming a government by the Civic Coalition (KO), along with other opposition parties. The KO is a coalition of several opposition parties, with its lead held by another conservative, homophobic, and additionally, neoliberal party, the PO (Civic Platform). This same party, along with another, PSL (Polish People's Party, conservative agrarians), rejected a bill on civil partnerships for same-sex couples a few years ago. Today, PSL is the main coalition partner for KO. No nightmare has ended; it continues.

@lsvd Ich würde mir ehrlich gesagt wünschen, wenn hier endlich mal wirklich Flagge gezeigt wird und man sich nicht mehr am kommerziellen CSD beteiligt auf dem Cops queerwashing betreiben während sie gleichzeitig auf uns im internationalen CSD einprügeln. Ist schön wenn da toll Party gemacht wird während an einer anderen Ecke in Berlin die eigenen Leute niedergerknüppelt werden von den Braunhemden in blauem Gewand die auf dem kommerziellen CSD beliebt, gewollt und willkommen sind. Eine widerliche Persiflage zum Andenken an #Stonewall.
