Data collected from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) show that hate crimes in Texas increased by 6.4 percent from 2021 to 2022, marking the sixth year in a row the state has seen an increase in hate crimes—and setting a new record.
The data show that Texas reached a new peak of at least 549 documented hate crimes across the state, with over 56 percent of hate crimes in 2022 targeting LGTBQ+ and Black people
Police charged a 71-year-old suburban Chicago man Sunday with a hate crime for fatally stabbing a 6-year-old boy and seriously wounding a 32-year-old woman, alleging he singled out both victims because of their Islamic faith and as a response to the war between Israel and Hamas.

One of the things about antisemitism is that antisemites sometimes get their target wrong. In this case, a person rammed their vehicle into what they thought was a Jewish Center but was actually an extremist BHI group. It seems no one was hurt but they endangered the lives of several people including children.

This happened more than once and Seldowitz didn't have any fear of the police either.

Elijah Schaffer just said on Rumble that if he could reduce the amount of people who identify as gay, he would. He said that beating such people up would be a solution. These are calls for genocide. He also doesn't think women should have the right to vote or hold office. A vote for Joe Biden is a vote to keep people like this in the fringe. The three were wearing keffiyehs and speaking Arabic when a man harassed and shot them. Two of them are currently in the ICU. One very critical and another with serious injuries.

"In the early morning of March 31, 2023, Mika Westwolf, a 22-year-old #Indigenous woman, was walking on the shoulder of U.S. Highway 93, which passes through the Flathead reservation in Montana. Westwolf was struck by a Cadillac Escalade and declared dead at the scene.
"Authorities said that 28-year-old Sunny White was behind the wheel of the Escalade with her two young children in the back seat and fled the scene. White is allegedly a #WhiteNationalist; she named her children 'Aryan' and 'Nation.' Some speculated that Westwolf's death was a #HateCrime."

Today in Labor History October 12, 1998: Matthew Shepard died from injuries sustained after being beaten and tortured in a homophobic assault in Laramie, Wyoming. The crime led to numerous attempts to enact new anti-hate crime laws at the local and federal level. All were opposed by conservative groups and most failed. It wasn’t until 2009 that the Matthew Shepard Act was finally signed into law. NBA player Jason Collins wore jersey number “98” in honor of Matthew Shepard during the 2021-2013 season, before coming out himself. “The Laramie Project” was a play about Matthew Shepard’s life and death written by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project.
