Marble Hill House is a Neo-Palladian villa, now Grade I listed, in Twickenham in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It was built between 1724 and 1729 as the home of Henrietta Howard, Countess of Suffolk.
Joined #pixelfed today as part of my new year's resolution to phase out all Meta products from my life.
In pre-pandemic times, Instagram was my go-to social media. Now, I rarely use it.
Photography has brought me joy since my first camera - a Kodak Pocket Instamatic 110 that used flash cubes.
My next camera, that I used from the age of 12 through my 30s, was a fully manual Pentax K1000 35mm with interchangeable lenses. Yes, I used to carry around a heavy, metal-body camera, an an assortment of lenses, AND a giant pivoting/telescoping flash unit that latched in the hot shoe. 😜
These days, I use my phone, reluctantly. I prefer the optical zoom and pop-up digital viewfinder of my point-and-shoot Sony digital camera.
The horrors of the pandemic and concurrent political turmoil took that joy away from me and I intend to get it back. The rise of fascism will not deprive me of that.
