Ted Taczynski, mathématicien précoce, démissionne en 1969 subitement de son poste à Berkeley, sans la moindre explication.
Deux ans plus tard, il s'installe dans une cabane qu'il a construite tout seul dans une forêt reculée (Montana).
Dès 1971, dans son journal intime, il exprime sa haine croissante de « l'establishment scientifique et bureautique ». Puis d'année en année, il échafaude au cours de ses randonnées solitaires son plan de se venger de la société industrielle et académique pour non protection de l'environnement :
en 1978, 2 colis piégés à l'université de Northwestern (Chicago).
en 1979: bombe dans un vol Américain Airlines (Chicago vers Washington). Le pilote a réussi à se poser en urgence.
en 1980: colis piégé au domicile du directeur général de l'United Airlines.
Les attaques se poursuivent jusqu'en 1995.
Bilan: 16 bombes, 3 morts, 23 blessés.
Dans cette affaire, le FBI a mené l'enquête la plus longue (+17 ans) et la plus coûteuse de son histoire (+150 agents). Ted ne laissait pas d'indices: par exemple, il fabrique lui-même les clous pour ses bombes!
En 1995: Ted propose de renoncer à ses attaques en échange de la publication de son manifeste. Publié dans le Washington Post et New York Times.
À la lecture du texte, le frère de Ted est frappé par l'expression « logiciens à la tête froide » qui lui rappelle mot pour mot une lettre de son frère. Confronté à un terrible dilemme, il choisit d'en parler au FBI. Ce qui a permis d'arrêter Ted en 1996.
La suite: condamné à la peine incompressible de huit fois la perpétuité. Incarcéré dans la prison la plus sécurisée.
Il décède en juin 2023.
Pour finir: peut-être on peut dire que le délire paranoïaque est le jumeau maléfique du raisonnement mathématique!

Merci. J’ai dû appeler le 15 pour un ami en détresse psychiatrique (TS). Ils ont été super. Merci à eux. On se plaint souvent du 15, mais en ce qui me concerne, aussi bien dans mon cas (détresse respiratoire) que dans le cas de mon ami (urgence psychiatrique), ils ont été au top.

Die integrative Schule wurde in der Deutschschweiz vor gut zehn Jahren eingeführt. Das Experiment ist gescheitert, nur möchte die Regierung das nicht wahrhaben.
Der engagierte schwule Lehrer unseres Kindes wurde von sog. "wertkonservativen" Eltern weggemobbt. Schulleitung und Schulpflege haben den Lehrer fallen gelassen. Wir "normalen" Eltern wurden erst hingehalten und dann vor Tatsachen gestellt. Jetzt ist wieder mal eine Vikariatsperson (ca. #15) am unterrichten.
