I had given up on pleading for more alt-text but I'll try again!
Please add alt-text to your photos/pictures it only takes a minute and does not have to be fancy. My policy is not to boost images without alt-text and I am not the only one.
This is one of the cultural things I like about Mastodon, the inclusiveness. Please don't ruin it.

#ALTtext#fediverse#fedi#help: I have found what looks like a bug in Safari for iPhone ALT text display when Add to Home Page is used to App-ify the page. However, I can't find a non-Mastodon webpage that definitely has pictures with ALT text so I can test if it's just a vanilla Mastodon or GlitchSec skin issue.
Could you please reply with webpages you know have #ALT text besides Mastodon? Thanks!
Edit: Mastodon is also putting a title= attribute with the alt= attribute on the img tag so that a tool tip shows up. (The alt tag is only valid on the img tag.) Safari on iOS seems to be ignoring the title= attribute.

I always try to add alt text, but I fear I may not always be the best to describe what is in a photo. Still, I encourage everyone to try, as not everyone who is on social media can see well or at all.

Problem: Ich würde gerne immer #alt#bildbeschreibung mitliefern, ABER das ist auf relativ kleinem screen = iPhone SE 1st GEN (!) + mobile browser nicht möglich! (DuckDuckGo) Alt-Texteingabe funzt, jedoch ist der „apply“-Button trotz scroll, swipe, zoom… definitiv nicht erreichbar = off-screen. :/

I go away for a few months and more people on Masto appear to post images without descriptions including those people who I thought were good about reposting things without alt text. Sad to find more and more posts with images that have no #description.
