Mal etwas in eigener Sache kurz... kennt hier jemanden eine Zahnklinik im Raum Frankfurt und Umgebung, die noch mit FFP2 und/oder Luftfiltern arbeiten?
FWIW, probably not as impactful as a national travel warning but with COVID, mass shootings, and states engaging in extermination legislation, I'll issue a travel warning for fuck all every ounce of this
hellscape called the USA.
Red legislated states being the most important to avoid.
For those international: that means the South, especially Texas and Florida.
“Have had many patients over past 2 weeks tell me they have "that bad flu" that's going around. Yeah. So there's no flu currently in #Ottawa (at least not A and I've not heard of outbreaks of B). There is though still plenty of the virus that must not be named.”

"At my appointment I told them I was withdrawing from the study unless 3 things happened:"
will have to withdraw from the study unless their staff is continuing to mask or they can guarantee I'll be in a room with adequate ventilation (as measured by CO2 under 700ppm) during my visits.
Report from the front lines of trying to get hospitals to fucking require masks.
I was supposed to be vaccinated today in the experimental HIV vaccine study I volunteered for. The study is being conducted by the clinical trials unit of Brigham & Women's hospital (#MGB#MGH), which just ended their mandatory masking policy. #COVID#CovidIsNotOver#CovidIsAirborne#MaskUp 1/4
It is transmitted via the respiratory system, but it is a vascular virus. Equating #COVID to the flu is ignorant. This is not a new concept. For example – Tuberculosis is spread through aerosols but affects the ENTIRE body.
Population immunity: Where's the evidence? Spoiler: There is none.
Appropriate measures: Clean air anyone?"
My Quaker Meeting is now discussing making masks optional. It's so tender and hurts so much -- someone even suggested that continuing with hybrid was blocking Spirit from moving within us (what the actual f*ck???) -- I'm stunned that even in places that are supposed to be different (progressive, considerate, thinking of others) those of us who are immunocompromised are being told we don't matter. It's so awful. I left Meeting for Worship for the Conduct of Business because it was too upsetting.
I don't have it in me to advocate for those of us who are at risk, even in my faith community. The fact is, I am not able to center into worship while breathing shared unmasked air.
This dismissal by my community has motivated me to learn more about other people who need accommodations so I can speak up for them. No one speaking up for me/us right now is so painful.
I'm not in self-pity or imagined helplessness. I am in awareness of my emotional and spiritual capacity.
A few facts to bear in mind in these troubling times:
Using a password manager destroys the natural immunity of your accounts, your accounts know how to protect themselves
Your computer finds it hard to breath with antivirus installed and also antivirus doesn't provide any protection at all
Incident responders are paid by the government to pretend the logs show a mass data export, all these breaches are really just people clicking on harmless adware
It's time to get back to normal and stop living in fear, uninstall your antivirus now
We need to stop collecting logs as they just make people afraid something is happening
If we don't remove our antivirus and connect all our devices to dodgiest network we can find, then we have given into tyranny
Cyber criminals don't attack healthy computers
Letting your computer get ransomware allows for natural immunity which provide for better protection going forward
We need to let all our computers get owned so that they reach herd immunity and like this cyber crime will stop
The cyber security industry and those who still use antivirus and check their logs are extremists who just want us all to live in fear forever
Me, bedtime last night: This was the first Saturday since getting #COVID (3.5 months ago) that I felt like I had enough energy to do everything I wanted to do today!
@DrTCombs I'm only six weeks in, and I really don't want another six weeks of this. I haven't yet felt fit enough to ride my bike, and there are several perfectly ordinary jobs around the place that I still don't have strength for.
If I had to write my #Intro all over again, it might read like this:
· I am a musician (but most people don’t really care).
· I am a COVID-cautious, COVID-conscious person (but most people don’t really care).
· I am scared what climate catastrophe will do to this planet (but most people don’t really care).
So yeah, that makes me pretty lonely.
Theoretically, I am glad that on social media, at least some people do care.
But social media is so fleeting, and being found and read is such a game of chance that is doesn’t really amount to much. Also, social media is driven by too much input and mostly way too superficial to really have a lasting impact.
I am still grateful for the four to seven people who react, reply, and support what I am doing. But seeing that it’s four to seven out of seven hundred isn’t all too encouraging.
Someone remarking that wearing masks is ineffective reminded me of Dr Ignaz Semmelweis (1818-1865), who introduced the idea that physicians should wash their hands to prevent transmission of disease from and to their patients.
Perhaps with some irony, he was thrown into an insane asylum, put up a fight through which he was injured, and died of gangrene two weeks later.
