No działa i to nieźle :)

It's time for a fresh #Introduction with more folks coming into the #Fediverse! Welcome; do make yourself at home. Oh, me? I’m a #queer #punk #DIY media activist with a twenty year history of writing for #newspapers, #zines, and websites, as well as making guerrilla #documentaries, all with a focus on #SocialJustice, holding screenings and running other events and initiatives in different parts of the world. I'm an unpaid carer for a partner with #LongCovid and we live together in #SocialHousing in #Sheffield, UK. I'm a member of #Acorn #RentersUnion as well as the #IWW. I continue to write while working in #DigitalMedia and #technology for #NonProfit organisations, but still live in poverty and my principle of "do no harm, take no shit" has cost me many connections and opportunities for income over the years, so suffice to say I welcome work offers, especially for worthwhile causes, as well as tips! For more info and links, check my profile. Thanks for reading!

Hello everyone! I finally decided to join mastodon after my dissatisfaction with Reddit (especially frustration stemming from being a huge subreddit mod; goodbye essential moderation tools!)

I’m hoping to engage with the community sharing my interests like

… and a lot more! I’m thrilled to be here.

It should be a square rag, but somewhere in the middle I thought "This will never be a square, but let's see where it goes!".

Well, it's a triangle... and I don't know why???

And the worst is, the video claimed it was for #newbies and I somehow feel bad, now.

How to do #amigurumi if this is happening? 😅

, step 1/9.

  • In the forest, choose a branch that has a nice shape but is not too twisted. Here from grey alder (Alnus incana).
  • Cut it in half using a coping saw.
  • Use a gouge to hollow out each half so that the branch, when reassembled, forms a pipe (inside diameter < 12mm for the moment).
  • Leave to dry for a few months.

Two branch halves hollowed out. A hand holds a gouge at its side.

Sometimes I consider how American society’s obsession with has progressed from:

1990: “install some shelves on my own!” to
2000: “build my own suspended deck!” to 2023: “raise my kids without any help or advice from experts or society!”

and I have to consider that we might have taken it too far 😬😬😬

: i am pleased to inform you that shannon and i are back on our 80s kids bullshit!!

  • we started working on dissecting song 4. lots of linn lm-1 drum machine! (this does not narrow it down if you're trying to guess the song; everyone in the 80s used this drum machine)

  • earlier in the day i finished a first mix for a new artist and sent it to him! i hope he likes it.

that's it! i'm in this nice little moment where all i have to do is work on music. lovely

Wtyczka zwykła, bolec i tuleja.

Starszy ThinkPad łyka zasilacz jak młody pelikan ;)

Macie pomysł albo link do info pod ręką?

Z góry dzięki :)

P.S. Zakup innego odpada, właśnie kupiłem ten, no i wolę ;)

well i got it pretty straight and i also got the little crossbar pretty straight and that’s good BUT

moira,
@moira@mastodon.murkworks.net avatar

it’s never going to be quite right because I can clean it up and file off all the casting marks and unbend all the bars I want but none of that is going to stop Pony from fucking up the screw hole now is it

moira,
@moira@mastodon.murkworks.net avatar

and by pony i mean a toolmaker apparently

i mean it is better than it was and I can use it and i did kinda go off scrubbing it and filing down casting marks but what it really needs is that hole filled in and re-tapped back out and that’s not something I can fix

moira,
@moira@mastodon.murkworks.net avatar

but it’s a lot closer now so that’s worth something and i guess i’ll finish really cleaning it up (tomorrow is rotary wire brush time then sanding I think)

i am very much not … uh … the “I make a new one” guy but I do crib his notes occasionally xD

more tomorrow probably ^_^

🔥USA East Coast friends: if the smoke is thick in your area, build a Corsi-Rosenthal box filter. These are inexpensive to build and very effective, and they filter and exchange the air in your house very efficiently. We use them extensively here in the western US when the fire smoke is bad. See this resource for how to build one:

devnull,

@bud_t CBC Marketplace pitted this kind of box fan against commercially available filters, and found that they were more than able to hold their own.
