What I've learned about #Fediverse (#Mastodon#Calckey etc) condensed to help others.

If there are subjects I don't want to deal with I can set filter words in my profile settings which will stop certain topics from showing up in my feeds.
#Fediverse & it's different platforms+software have masses of clever tools, & different ways to access. You communicate with people all over the Fediverse, across different platforms.
So much more to explore, new projects, new apps:
#PixelFed like Instagram but not constantly trying to sell you stuff #PeerTube like Youtube but not ads based #Friendica like Facebook but not harvesting your data or radicalising your relatives #Mastodon millions use it as Twitter without all the Nazis #Calckey a really smooth & fun new Twitter replacement with loads more features than Twitter
& many more to discover. They all communicate together, you can use any or all, keep your people, your following circles across all of them.

Jetzt, wo infolge abhanden gekommener Blauhaken (und #Reichweite) wahrscheinlich noch mal eine größere Welle von Usern samt Gefolge aus dem Vogelkäfig zu #Mastodon abwandert, ist für mich vielleicht ein guter Zeitpunkt, mal wieder mit Klarnamen aufzutreten und zugleich zu unterstreichen, dass das #Fediverse nicht nur aus Mastodon besteht, sondern noch andere schöne Töchter hat. A mi, me gusta #Misskey. Die #Instanz von https://misskey.de/ ist zudem in guten Händen (betrieben vom gleichen Admin, der auch die #Friendica-Instanz https://libranet.de/ betreibt, die schon seit Jahren existiert.
Meinen bisherigen Account bei Mastodon werde ich bis auf weiteres und vielleicht auch längerfristig noch weiter betreuen. Allerdings werde ich das meiste, was ich dort poste, zunächst von meinem neuen Misskey-Account aus posten und dann dort einfach boosten. Auf diese Weise bekommt ihr es, wenn ihr mir dort folgt, weiterhin mit. Trotzdem freue ich mich natürlich über alle, die mir (auch) oder alternativ unter diesem neuen Account folgen.
Im Laufe des Wochenendes werde ich wohl auch allen folgen, denen ich mit meinem Mastodon-Account folge. Das Prozedere ist leider etwas umständlich, weil man von Mastodon nicht einfach so zu Misskey umziehen kann wie innerhalb von Mastodon. Da gibt es noch Verbesserungsbedarf. Ansonsten aber gilt: #FediPower und #FediverseIsFuture!

what is the way to fix a contact that was wrongly detected as feed instead of activity pub? I can not even mentions these contacts and wonder how this can be fixed?
Jetzt läuft meine #Friendica-Instanz wieder und ich werde bis auf weiteres wieder dort als @wolf das Fediverse bespielen.
Da mir in den letzten Wochen ja hier einige Folgeanfragen schickten, also nochmal der Hinweis, dass dieser Mastodonaccount nur mein Reserveaccount ist (falls mal was nicht läuft). Entsprwchend würde ich mich freuen, wenn ihr mir auch unter @wolf folgen würdet, von wo ich ab nun wieder posten werde.
Kann es sein das ich per #friendica keine Videos teilen kann?
Denn wenn ich ein Video an den Post mit anhängen will, wird zwar versucht das hochzuladen, aber dann bricht es ab.

Teste gerade eine andere Fediverse Software noch und da konnte ich das ohne Problem einbinden und auch bei #friendica abspielen

A massive thank you to to every server admin on the #Fediverse who tried to keep their server going under the tsunami wave of posts about Eurovision - whether your server was #Mastodon, #Calckey, #Pixelfed, #Friendica, etc. You all did a fantastic job on the night, no matter the result. I would like to think everyone cannot thank you enough.
Seeing everyone participate in Eurovision on the Fediverse was spectacular. I've never seen so much excitement and chatter before. I felt like I was part of a wholesome community - something I've longed for in other social media platforms, but never truly got with all the anger, aggression, and trolling. None of that was here, and it made the Fediverse absolutely beautiful! ❤️
Like #Friendica, /kbin can ban trolls from participating in groups.
Unlike Friendica, you can remove posts local to where the group is hosted.
Unfortunately, the offending comments still appears in user timelines because other Fediverse servers do not delete after comments are removed locally.
Another alternative could be #Calckey which supports groups through "Channels". However these do NOT federate.
The next version of #Share2Fedi will add support for other Fediverse projects. I need to test it, but I don’t have any accounts to do it with. That’s where you come in:
I would like to endorse other minor web apps in the #Fediverse, but most of them are full of UI glitches, are incomplete and downright buggy looking odd things.
From my designer point of view #Mastodon and #Pixelfed are the only effective ones, because they speak to people who are used to proper visual design language (read: Non-nerds, non-engineers, the regular people and design oriented people).
Things like #BookWyrm, #Lemmy, #Friendica and newer niche apps cause reactions like: "What is this?", they look like back end is fine but nobody is in charge of the design and the UI has no direction whatsoever. It's the general culprit in the programming world: A back end developer thinks everything is fine when we add a CSS framework and that's that.
If we just get the UI right everywhere, we get more people to the #Fediverse. I just wish there was more #CSS/design people willing to contribute. #UI#UIDesign
The latest beta of Relatica mobile/desktop client for Friendica is now released: 0.4.0. The two biggest features are that it supports animated GIF attachments and now all platforms have video support thanks to a new Flutter library called "media_kit". That is along with a host of smaller changes mentioned in the CHANGELOG file. Right now due to some hiccups with XCode 14.3 the Mac version has to be directly downloaded and won't be through TestFlight. just noticed, that there is a version 0.6.0 of your app #Relatica and the version 0.5.0 has been released already three weeks ago.
Curious about two features I asked for, I'm happy to see, that you noticed my request and implemented both already in version 0.5.0.
Both - opening a link in the default browser and scrolling to top of timeline by tapping on the home button - makes this app more suitable for daily use.
So again thank you a lot for this great #Friendica -app.

One aspect of #mastodon I don't recall seeing much info about is the groups feature. It is a mastodon feature isn't it? Anyway, assuming it is a feature, how does one create a group on mastodon?
Also if I'm wrong and there in fact isn't a group feature in mastodon, then I withdraw the question.
@LibertyForward1 Mastodon does not do groups. It recognizes when an ActivityPub "actor" is a group instead of a person by adding a "group" tag and allows you to mention and otherwise interact with groups, but those groups are created using other ActivityPub platforms such as #friendica and #pixelfed
Groups have been on Masto's "to do" list for awhile and may eventually arrive but it is so microblog-centric it is potentially a pretty disruptive change at several levels.
@helpers Hi all. I noticed that Calckey accepts my posts that go to my followers as DM and lists all my followers in the post. This is not in my interest at all. Is there any way to use the abstract function to send my posts only to #friendica and #mastodon?
