Some 40 years ago, my dad took a leap and decided to import and resell the #Enterprise64 microcomputer from the United Kingdom. This was indeed the era of the "micro", and lots of options were available like the #Spectrum, #Amstrad, #NewBrain, #Lynx and numerous others. Unfortunately competition was hard, and the Enterprise was delayed for almost a year. Eventually they went bankrupt and all stock was exported to Eastern Europe where it got a second life among some very hard core enthusiasts. Very few were actually sold in Denmark - I would assume less then a hundred - and today I managed to get my hands on the third one in my collection. Inherited from his dad, the seller had no idea what to use this for. It's very much a special item, and very far from the mainstream like the Commodore 64. It is nevertheless a fascinating machine, sporting a #Zilog#Z80 with support for up to 2MB RAM. The operating system also contained IS-BASIC, and was a bliss to work with.
Lastly I went with #BlueDolphin as the terminal theme. I think it pulls it all together very well. Overall I am pretty happy with how things worked out with the Mango Pi.
No one has asked me, but I propose "Minnesota Fierce" as the permanent name of #PWHL Minnesota. Much like how the #MinnesotaTimberwolves (#NBA) and #Lynx (#WNBA) have distinct names that pair together well, I think #MinnesotaWild and #MinnesotaFierce would make a great duo and "Fierce" is evocative of a competitive, brave team.
Started playing with Lynx CLI web browser again. It's amazing how well it renders pages.
However, is there a way for it to only load the body of an page? Or remove headers? #lynx#debian#linux#webbrowser
So @deb and I finally checked out The Wild Animal Sanctuary right outside of Denver. They’re really doing some wonderful work to provide a healthy home to so many animals that have had a hard life! If you ever have the chance to check it out I HIGHLY recommend you swing by and help support their work and get to see some new friends while you’re at it. Honestly it’s so nice to see these animals have so much space roam and be happy and healthy.
Oh and this is where a lot of the Tiger King tigers ended up.
Here are some highlights of the obscene amount of photos I got today 😆
Default #Lynx install colors seems to have a lot of white/gray text on light blue background. This combo has too little contrast. I cannot see what it is telling me. 😮 #CLI

Day 1 we arrive at the place where we hope to see the rarest cat in the world, the Iberian Lynx. Immediately Mick spots a lynx. We pour excitedly out of the car, grabbing binoculars & cameras. 1st attempt at a photo fails because I've left lens cap on. 2nd fails as the camera settings all wrong. Managed to get photo just as the lynx ... is heading into a bushy area never to re-emerge. Doh! Anyway, here is a photo of the arse end of a lynx 🤣🤣🤣
I completely redesigned my website. Now you have a similar viewing experience using FireFox, NetSurf, or Lynx. I also wrote a post on the state of the web in 2024, and that explains why I thought the redesign was needed.
Ideally, I usually prefer to promote good news, as opposed to bad news, especially when I am passionate about a project or development. I am a firm believer in both herd mentality and self-fulfilling prophecies.
I want to make it clear, my primary web browser of choice is still Firefox and I still regularly contribute to Mozilla.
But as I said, and I hate to write this, Mozilla Firefox is in trouble.
@Linux_Is_Best but maybe me defaulting to @torproject / #TorBrowser with #JavaScript and #Cookies disabled and expecting #Lynx to work as well is too much, I think more #WebDevs should test amd bigfix their stuff ob #Firefox and if necessary let @mozilla know of something that doesn't work in Firefox but everywhere else...
I've decided about putting my fursona Kuro up for auction. They come with over 60 pieces of art and counting along with a pre-made fursuit nub tail (made to order, you MUST provide shipping costs for this) made by me.
The character includes some art that contains a character that belongs to an ex partner(s) of mine, you will not have character rights to their OC but you will have rights to edit, alter, etc Kuro. You can crop out their character(s) from the art to just leave Kuro. Please have a Toyhou.se account if not I can save Kuro for you to keep artists credits, etc, etc intact.
I can accept PayPal and CashApp. I prefer CashApp if possible! The character is well over $300 in value but I am willing to haggle!
The #Atari#Lynx handheld was such an underrated console… came out 2 months before the original #GameBoy, and it had a backlit color LCD screen. The game library was pretty solid too! Problem was it was kinda ugly, had short battery life and it was much more expensive than the Gameboy… Still a great console though! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_Lynx
Thanks again to @SweetAIBelle for extensive contributions to OS/1337, making the pipeline and scripts to reproduceably build OS/1337 images and it's parts more flexible and nifty.
The W3C, founded in 1994 by web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, has quit X and declared the fediverse to be their primary social media channel. Follow them at: @w3c
@fluepke#W3C has pretty much become a rubberstamp for the #Google-led cartel that is the #WHATWG. An organization that doesn't give smaller browsers like #PaleMoon, #LadyBird, and #Lynx a voice in the writing of specs for web standards like #HTML5 and #CSS3 does not deserve support, and should not be seen as an ally of the #openweb.
