Finished the first book on my - Station Eternity by @MurHerself

It's a cozy (well, up to a point) murder set on an alien space. Cool setting, fun characters, and a great payoff at novel's end.

Mystery malware destroys 600,000 routers from a single ISP during 72-hour span:

An unknown threat actor with equally unknown motives forces ISP to replace routers.
One day last October, subscribers to an ISP known as Windstream began flooding message boards with reports their routers had suddenly stopped working and remained unresponsive to reboots and all other attempts to revive them.

Something especially funny about watching a mystery about a murder during a TV shoot that gets TV shooting all wrong.

I mean, they’re doing one. Can’t imagine what the crew was thinking during it.

Looking for modern (so 2000's onwards or at least no older than mid 1990's) Mystery / Romance that DOES NOT involve murder.

Does such a thing exist?

Reccs please !

I assume that Mystery / Romance as a hybrid genre already exists but am not sure... 🤷🏿‍♀️

I know that ' Romance & ' as a genre is a far spanning horizon...

Mystery tree of the day. Maybe a shrub. Extremely popular with the pollinators. Blooms year round. Covered always with honeybees, carpenter bees, native bees, hummingbird, you name it. Neighbor (one that will talk to me, LOL) hates it and always tells me she wishes I would get rid of it. (Update: Almost certainly Grewia occidentalis, the Crossberry -- very useful plant, and edible!!!) #mystery

Truly very happy that Nancy Drew: Mystery Of The Seven Keys is released!
I spent a large portion of last year working on it, and I’m excited to see how all the fans will receive it.

Hoping to catch some of you streamers solve the puzzles, the HeR team really stumped me with some of them!

I went to the supermarket for a bottle of ammonia water yesterday. The sort often sold as "cloudy ammonia" as if there is also a non-cloudy version. Could not find it.

Today, following a web search, I found that it's not with the cleaning stuff where I'd expected it, but in hardware. And there I found it on the lowest shelf sandwiched between methylated spirits on the left, and soft toys on the right.

This has me wondering: what do other people use ammonia solution for?

It appears people no longer know how to operate one of these. Absolutely no one knows what it is anymore (probably for the last 5 years).

Found this orchid half price at the nursery yesterday. No label but it looks like a small dendrobium. Might be ‘chocolate chip’ based on the flower shape and colors. Here’s hoping it rehabs! It’s pretty cute but currently a bit dried out and wrinkly.

Closer picture of the stalk with two flowers. The petals are light to medium yellow with many tiny pinkish purple spots. The spots are on the outside of the petals and can be seen through on the inside.

Have two guys here replacing the final two windows/sliding glass door (which I should have replaced when they were here last time), and they appear to have been raptured... Stopped work, stuff all here, but they disappeared, LOL

There is a specific point here in Austin that will disconnect Android Auto/Carplay if you drive past it -- there are entire reddit threads about this phenomenon that go back years.

Supposedly people have reported to FCC but I've never heard of any resolution. I rarely drive in that area but did today and was reminded of the whole thing when my phone, indeed, disconnected.

Now I'm mad because this is one of those things that's going to haunt me forever.

'Maigret' is on Kanopy, two free episodes. I watched the first last evening. Rowan Atkinson doesn't have many lines so he has to use his face for acting purposes. Pretty good, all in all. My dad loved Simenon's books. Now I'll hunt for a couple and try them out.

Mystery object of the day. Not sure if this is for photography (filter of some sort?);or audio (pop screen?). UFO (Unidentified Found Object) -- UPDATE: Mystery (already) solved -- pop filter for a microphone. Well... part of one. (see https://infosec.exchange/@dko/112203637956510198)

Some of this will mainly make sense to indie authors, but my publisher got a BookBub deal for Something Deadly on Desert Drive. I went from fewer than fifty ratings to 150 in a week! And I basically retained my star rating. I also hit at least #2 in free Cozy Mystery and #2 in free Women Sleuths in the Kindle Store. (I wasn't checking constantly.) Now if only those new readers will go on to read the rest of the series ....
