Look, if they can’t stick to established convention and they’re not gnu (and thus magically excusably arrogant as fuck because #stallman), then you just know they’ll be somehow dragging in remote libraries or something equally as fuckwitted; so just remove it and live your life.
watching https://libre.video/videos/watch/fb9554dc-1d02-4287-88ef-a897e488e80c and Cory #Doctorow is most definitely is right about the creeping conglomeration of powers across industries, to a small set of very powerful individuals, due to a lack of consumer rights, the elimination of competition, and the ongoing weakening of anti-trust rules and user protection entities

so my start menu stopped working again. On a whim, I hit Windows + S to see if the search box thing would open. It didn't. But then I hit the windows key again, and the start menu works again now. Somehow. For some reason. Anyway yeah that's a thing.
You’re interested in tech and you want a nice home (or just any home) and stability? Go work at Google, Facebook, or some other surveillance capitalist.
What’s that? You want to work on free and open source? Sure, go work at IBM or Oracle… Oh… you don’t mean enterprise software? Tech to protect human rights/democracy? Not for profit hippie-dippie crap for the common good?
Oh, then suffer.
I mean, is it any surprise things are as they are?
For Same does for a lot of of other things:
I'd love to get #FSF / #GNUtils out of my tech stack just for them letting #Stallman back in but alas I'm kinda forced to work with #bash and #nano and stuff...
#Stallman was right since the very beginning. Every warning, every prophecy realised. And, worst of all, he had the solution since the start. The problem is not RMS or FSF. The problem is us. The problem is that we didn’t listen.
#Glibc is the major preventor of #Linux becoming the norm since #GNU literally brick shit with minor updates, and the #FSF outright ignores the the fact that #CCSS exist and not everything is #FLOSS and that people should not have to recompile their stuff!
Otherwise everything that has been touched or associated with #RMS / #Stallman is tainted and him being reinstated will continue to damage #FreeSoftware for years to come.
I quite wish wayland wouldn't be compared to systemd so much…
Wayland is an evolution from X11 by it's own developers and pretty much all desktops environments involved.
Migration to it can be pretty gradual and smooth, in fact you can still just keep using Xorg/TinyX/… without added issues, just bitrot starting to appear because of new hardware.
Meanwhile Systemd is pretty much one-sided and it's also an implementation that forcefully shoved itself into the ecosystem.
It broke a ton of things and still regularly breaks things.
@Natanox@lanodan RMS is just trash and the fact that #Stallman isn't banned from any conference like #ioerror and #Kimble are speaks volumes because he makes both look like saints in comparison!
