When you have canals and high density housing everywhere, and you want to build more cycling infrastructure, you get creative.

Dafne bridge crosses a canal and the path goes over a school into the neighbourhood.

Sky is the limit. All you need is political will.

a renovation to wharf cellars on 's Oudegracht shows well how not only the bridges, but the entire street rests on arches. Futuristic images (contemporary and historical) often show separated traffic layers, whether flyovers for cars or an aerial layer with drones or helitaxis. So basically a medieval idea: the waterway (and quays) for supplies (and disposal), the streets and bridges for people.

Off to today for @PolarRES + annual meetings. Looks like this journey is going to be cosy... The platform for the train is packed, and unusually the train is an old coach series rather than DSB...
Somewhere on here @Hansen_Nicolaj should also have a seat (I hope)

Apart from @Hansen_Nicolaj and me, other colleagues in @PolarRES are taking trains from Budapest, London, Liege and Berlin (and probably other places too), all converging on . It feels surprisingly cosmopolitan. But that's for you. Better connections and especially more night trains would be a big help.
