Gotta like ADHD, this time my hyper fixation is, well, mushrooms! 🍄💜
Here are some unisex and more fem/masc options for all. Reblog if you agree that mushrooms are great and would like to support a small business devoted to using funds to the creation of music, film and poetry about neurodiversity, the climate crisis, gender and mental health. Thank you:)

people I needs your help (not $).

Do any of you have Cygna for your insurance? They're pulling the "We don't cover vyvanse" 🐄💩 , but they also made sure to check with my doctor if i had tested all the "try this first" things before vyvanse.

I want to hear from you if you have gotten Cygna to cover vyvanse OR if you've got real world advice for convincing an insurer to cover drugs they don't want to. I need ammo before calling them.

Hello, this is my post.

I post about creative stuff, my day & & (the pros & cons) it's not neurodiminished. Surprising how many in creative / tech now have diagnosis.

I sometimes post funny stuff & & . I listen to a lot of / new & old and may post a favourite track.

I believe in hope, in optimism, in learning from our mistakes, adapting, innovating, improving. I like to post about interesting advances, about beneficial things we can, or could do, at individual or large scale.

I like to follow lots of different people. It can be good for keeping a bit of my scrappy european languages skills together too. Also I intensely disliked Twitter's unheard serfs vs broadcasting overlords model of low follows but high following (for post visibility) it seemed sort of arrogant & elitist.

Everyone matters. I profoundly ❤️ that leaves air in the room for the quiet ones, the shy ones, the awkward ones. Sometimes I can talk to a room, sometimes I'd rather watch from the sides, depends on the day or setting.

That's probably enough for most people, I might add more below.

Hello people

How do I go about finding information on which European countries I can and cannot take my meds into, and what documentation I will need to carry to prove my prescription if needed?

Do I need to contact officials from the countries I want to travel through to ask (and if so how do I do that) or is there somewhere I haven't found that officially collates this sort of info?

I am so used to pre-brexit, pre-med travel that I have no concept of how to do this sort of officialdom

Any folks out there that don't have any "hyperactive" symptoms? If so, was it difficult to get diagnosed?

Question for parents, caregivers, or people who remember relevant details from their own childhood:

What tips and methods seem to work best for introducing the concept of money, savings and to young kids?

Our six-year-old is very smart, advanced at reading and getting better than average at math, but he's also impulsive*, so not sure about the jar advice.

I once saw a great analogy about sensory issues that used some sort of silos or tanks for the different senses and how they overflow into the other once they are full. Can't find it again. Anyone know what I'm talking about and can point me in a direction?

Do you have more sensible days where your sensory issues are worse? I just had my sensory issue cup overflow by being thirsty. 🙈

Question for my ND friends: how do you cope with downsizing personal belongings?

I'm preparing to move to a new home, and I've been paralyzed by the size of the task of packing and need to throw things away to simplify. The problem is, my stuff feels like an extension of myself, and I know I will regret it.

ADHD is really not a good name for ADHD.

annedraya, to random

I’m currently working on/mulling over a perspective on , as I try to seriously practice the Dharma with a mind. I have yet to write these thoughts down properly but I’m thinking a lot about the analogy between taking in sense impressions and food/eating, which is also in as part of the Four Nutriments https://plumvillage.org/library/sutras/discourse-on-the-four-kinds-of-nutriments/

annedraya,

Working with this metaphor of nutriment/nutrition made me realise that feels like constantly starving, despite seeming banquets of food (sensory impressions) all around. has a name for that too- the hungry ghost. Being a hungry ghost is usually explained in terms of being a bad rebirth destination due to greediness , but for my ADHD mind it’s more like dying of thirst while stranded at sea- there’s water everywhere but however much you drink, you’ll still be thirsty.

I have a terrible time remembering which pills I've taken or if I already took my pills so I finally got frustrated and devised a random ADHD hack. I can't always remember if I've taken them, but I can remember if they were upside down or right side up for some reason. So I started flipping them over every time I take them. I can also make sure I took all of them because they should all be in the same direction. I'm perplexed, but it's working.

I created this timer web app for my kid to help him stay on track while getting dressed, doing homework, etc. It can do simple countdowns of 5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes. It can also do an alternating 10 minutes of study with 3 minute break timer. Also, it can hoot at you every 30 seconds because of course it can. Free to use for anyone who finds it helpful.

For some reason I thought this was sometime last year but I see I posted this to my site in January. My sense of time is way off these days. LOL I swear I have not taken but I hope you enjoy this one.

Prints and more here: https://mark-tisdale.pixels.com/featured/cosmic-mushroom-nights-mark-tisdale.html?product=art-print

akirebubar,

@MarkOnArt My sense of time seems to have nothing to do with actual reality these days. Some of that's for me, but it seems like a LOT of folks w/out those issues have been having trouble tracking time these past few years. Interesting/odd that that should be such a broad experience. In any case, you're definitely not alone!

Also? Gorgeous ! I love the moonlight edging the mushroom, and the texture of lighter sky between tree silhouettes. , truly.
