I wanted to make some art today, so I decided to start learning "I Want To Live" from the new #BaldursGate3 soundtrack.
This is my first time learning a finger picking song and I found the mixing of syncopated and straight rhythms to be tricky. It's obviously just a first try, but I'm so pleased with it I wanted to share!
I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like AI in that EVERYONE wants me to use their AI crap all at once.
Gmail has it, google sheets has it, youtube, it's Bing's only business model suddenly, Grammarly, even Ezoic who manages ads on my website has some of this crap.
...and I don't really use any of it aside from asking Chat GPT which MLP pony is the hottest when I get bored (it's Rarity)
If I ask it to 'copyedit' a paragraph, it does a great job, making small tweaks like a spell checker 👍
But give it 3-4 paragraphs to rework, it changes the text so completely that my 'voice' is completely gone.
If I ask it to just compose something with a prompt, it's insipid silliness. I mean its reasonable, just so generic it offers no value. It's not just Bard, I've also tried #ChatGPT with the same effect.
The Bard AI will now be able to access YouTube, Docs, Map, Lens and a slew of other Google apps as well as your personal Workspace data (with permission).
Was writing some z80 assembly after a long pause, and I needed to check if space was pressed on the speccy keyboard. I was feeling lazy and didn't feel like looking it up in the docs, so I asked #AI to code it for me. Both google's #bard and microsoft's #bing gave confident, good-looking and entirely wrong answers. I ended up digging up the docs in the end.
This was an EXTREMELY interesting paper on what modern LLMs can learn from older older symbolic AI / expert system approaches to improve the validity of what those statistical models generate on their own, using the Cyc system as the contrast to the modern systems.
Last time I tried #chatGPT to help me with #yaml for #homeassistant and was greatly dissatisfied with the utter bullshit it spat out.
Yesterday I tried #bard
It's even more self-confident and more wrong.
I'm done with this #ai hype. Wake me up when it's actually useful.

Und musste mich dabei ganz gehoerig an die eigene Nase packen!
Question: Why do we (myself included) hold #chatgpt or #bard to a high standard when they make mistakes, but we don't "fact check" every site on the web that ranks for controversial topics?

If you play as a #Bard, when you encounter other bards playing music in the world, you can accompany them. The game automatically sync the music tracks. #BaldursGate3
If you play a different song, it disrupts their play.
