Afternoon thunderstorms are a daily occurrence here on the Florida Gulf coast during the summertime & this day was no exception. These have moved offshore & will rain themselves out over the Gulf. The cloud formations with these powerful storms are always a sight to behold.
This was such a beautiful evening on the Gulf with the churned up water and the setting sun peeking through a break in the clouds casting its sun rays across the sky. Doesn’t get much better than this.
It's a moody summer evening on the Florida Gulf coast as the sun makes its departure & beautiful clouds fill the sky overhead, turning the entire scene a beautiful blue. What a great evening for a casual stroll along the beach
A dreamy end to the day as we headed to the beach for sunset. A sultry summer evening with Saharan dust settled over Florida creating the haze and enhancing the sunset colors.
This was a moody evening at the beach for sunset with the dark gray clouds & the beautiful golden glow from the setting sun. With hurricane Idalia heading our way, the Gulf waters won’t be this calm for awhile. Stay safe to all along the Florida Gulf coast, especially those in the cone.
A calm Gulf of Mexico with barely a ripple greeted us this evening as we made our way to the beach for sunset. Seagulls & a couple of shorebirds had gathered along the shoreline to relax at the end of the day. Taken right after sunset which often sees the best color.

The light was unearthly at that moment and the rainbow stretched like a great arch, almost like a dome over the whole beach. I felt like I was walking and standing underneath it, rather than looking at it from a distance.
