Hab bislang Sigma Rox 12. War eigentlich relativ zufrieden aber der Akku hält inzwischen nur noch ~4½ Stunden und so recht weiß ich nicht ob ich bei Sigma bleiben will. Gibt keinen adäquaten Ersatz.
Epic day biking the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park. Bikes are allowed before the road opens to cars, which will be any day now. Absolutely spectacular. 3200 ft elevation gain in 16 miles from Avalanche Trail head to Logan Pass. We--my partner, my kid, and I--have 2 days left to decide whether said kid stays enrolled at her neighborhood elementary school or enrolls in a specialized gifted education program that offers services she very much could use in a different school.
There are pros and cons. But the thing I can't get over is that the other school--the only place in the whole district where these services are offered--is in a no walk/no bike zone. As in kids are literally banned from #walking & #biking there.
I did a rough calculation recently and was surprised I'd saved ~$100,000 over the past 20 years by biking to work and having just one car in our family. That's without the benefits of faster mortgage payments.
The NZ govt's GenLess website estimates the 5-year cost of ownership of common EVs and petrol cars "at $36,772 for the EVs compared to $54,473 for the petrol cars".
So, over 20 years, biking has probably saved me closer to $150,000.🚲👍

Das Rathaus von Melsungen ist ein in den 1560er Jahren errichtetes Fachwerkhaus im Zentrum der nordhessischen Kleinstadt Melsungen. Das Gebäude steht nach allen Seiten frei und hat drei vorkragende Obergeschosse. An den Ecken des Rathauses befinden sich vier polygonale Ecktürmchen. Aus dem Dach ragt ein Mittelturm, in dem sich zweimal täglich, um 12 Uhr und 18 Uhr, eine geschnitzte Holzfigur zeigt, die das Melsunger Wahrzeichen, den #Bartenwetzer, darstellt.

Here is the overhead pedestrian bridge that was constructed over Jefferson Avenue for the race.
Two things:
The City of #Detroit should erect a permanent bridge here, complete with #accessibility features for people with mobility needs.
The City of Detroit should not have blocked off the #biking paths on Jefferson Avenue with concrete barriers without providing an equivalent path for bicyclists. I saw many bicyclists attempt to dangerously mingle with traffic.
