I recently had the chance to take a bunch of photos at the British Birds of Prey Centre in south Wales.
Despite somewhat overcast skies I got some shots I'm pretty happy with, so this'll be an ongoing thread of good birbs, as and when I get to editing them :D
We spotted a bird yesterday, but not able to identify it with 100% confidence. Is this an osprey? We've never seen an osprey on our #Minnesota lake before. Photographed from a distance unfortunately.
There is a lot of doom and gloom about nature and wildlife.. but I have to say that in the past 4 years I am sure there's been a huge boom in the number of #birdsofprey I see flying (and squawking) around above the various villages, fields and woodlands around me. Something I recall being a rare sight from youth until ~4 years ago is now an almost daily occurrence. Majestic beasts. #britishwildlife
This image is a detail from my watercolor painting American Bald Eagle portrait, which I painted in landscape format. I have cropped it to a modern square format.
My friend came back twice yesterday, the first time to hang out and look around, the second time at dusk to enjoy a delicious sparrow(?) up a spruce tree.
Not great photos, but I was doing some running around today, and managed to come across these beautiful Wedge Tailed Eagles. Sadly I couldn’t get close enough to take good pictures, but it was great to watch them majestically soar through the sky. #birdphotography#birdsofprey
