Is this rock pigeon (Columba livia) napping or just cold. Pigeons, like many birds can sleep with a portion of their brain while the other part stays alert. Sleeping with one eye open, so to speak.

I usually don't write about the photo in my "good morning" narrative, but their story popped into my head.
The local pigeons are very annoying in my backyard, they mob the feeders which caused me to purchase new, pigeon resistant, feeders. They also congregate on my roof in the mornings for a bit making my house look like the pigeon lady from "Home Alone II."
I have to say though, they sort of pay me for the trouble they cause. Pigeons dance in the sky for me every day. They are quite beautiful swooping through the air high and low, synchronized as if one mind guides them all.

I took Ben to the veterinarian yesterday. He has something going on with his front paws. This was the third time that I took him for the same thing. However, we saw a different doctor this time who knew exactly what was going on, something-itis. The doc told me and showed me pictures. We got some antibiotics, some anti-itch pills, and some antiseptic wipes.
