The #House#legislation turns a portion of the #aid, the money sent directly to #Ukraine, into a * #loan* & is endorsed by #Trump. It also includes just over $9B in #humanitarian aid for #Gaza, the #WestBank, Ukraine & other places in need, which #Democrats have demanded as a condition of any support from them. #MikeJohnson signaled Wed evening that there would probably be an amendment to the package to strip the #HumanitarianAid, which he said he has “concerns” with.

President #Biden will announce a new effort on Monday to reduce or eliminate #student#loan#debt for millions of borrowers,
an attempt to revive his goal of providing large-scale relief for Americans struggling to pay off their college loans, a person familiar with the plan said Friday.
Mr. Biden is expected to preview new regulations by the Education Department targeting millions of borrowers,
including those whose loans have ballooned because of accrued interest and others who can demonstrate financial hardship impeding repayment.
The proposed regulations are set to be published over the next few weeks.
Mr. Biden will speak about the effort during a visit to Wisconsin on Monday, which will coincide with an event on student loans with Vice President Kamala #Harris in Philadelphia.
The push is a recognition by Mr. Biden and his allies of the disappointment felt by his supporters
— especially young voters
— when the president’s first attempt to wipe out student debt was #blocked by the #Supreme#Court last summer.
The court said that the government exceeded its authority under federal law when it attempted to cancel up to $400 billion in student loans.

#NYAG Solomon asked about several of the #covenants for #DeutscheBank's #loan to #Trump for the #DC hotel that the guarantor for the loan, Trump, was required to comply with.
Listing several off, Solomon asked if #Ivanka was familiar w/ them.
Ivanka: “I generally understood that there was a personal guarantee as a condition of the loan as well as other requirements…this level of (specificity) is not something I recall.”
#DeutscheBank's Tom Sullivan sent #Ivanka an email Dec 2, 2013, w/ the subj & attachment "Term Sheet - Old Post Office."
The attachment contained the terms on the $160M #loan amt.

Asked about her role in the Doral sale, #Ivanka said: she received a phone call about the sale that was "very inconvenient timing" bc she was "in the hospital, or I was about to be in the hospital" w/her first child.
#NYAG showed docs from a 2011 #loan, where #Trump said his #financial stmnts were accurate, that he's worth $2.5B, that he had at least $50M in unencumbered liquid assets, & other things.

The day began w/ yesterday’s drama. Trump attys accused #NY Supreme Court Justice Arthur #Engoron's #LawClerk, #AllisonGreefield, of bias, & the asserted she influences the judge.
Yesterday, Engoron warned Trump atty #Kise not to speak about court staff, & noted a pattern of #misogyny in Kise’s behavior toward women in the courtroom.
Eric: “Yes, I think my father's net worth is far higher.”
The NYAG showed a 2021 #certification signed by Eric relating to Trump's #Doral golf course. The cert was sent to a #bank w/ Trump's #SFC, which verified Trump's financials.
#NYAG again asked: "You did intend for this to be an accurate representation.”
#EricTrump: "I wouldn't sign something if it wasn't accurate, so yes.”
The NYAG showed 2 more 2021 certifications signed by Eric thst he sent to banks w/ #Trump's #SFC for #loan applications.
NYAG: "We just looked at 3 certifications you signed. What if anything did you do to ascertain that the 2021 statements of financial condition [were accurate]?"
The trial is scheduled to last until the end of Dec but is expected to end sooner.
Trump arrived in the courtroom & strode past AG #LetitiaJames, seated in the first row, w/o making eye contact & immediately took a seat at the defense table.
While pool photographers took his picture at the defense table, looking solemn, in camera-ready way, Judge #Engoron looked amused.
“President Trump did not make any false statements,” Kise read from a slide. He said that the AG’s estimates are speculative, which matters as they would determine the size of any #penalty#Trump would pay.
Kise made a potentially important distinction: He said the banks set the #loan terms based on their own due diligence, rather than the statements of #financial condition.
He concluded his opening argument & said bluntly that he disagrees w/ 1 of the judge’s rulings, & plans to #appeal it.
#Kise previewed some of the people who defense lawyers intend to call to testify on #Trump’s behalf, incl’g several #ExpertWitnesses on #valuation methods & people involved in #loan decisions. These are just a few of the 127 witnesses who were included on their witness list submitted last week.
