Check out the #Mastodon pin that Dutch State Secretary of Digitalisation (@avhuffelen) is wearing on stage during @publicspaces, talking 'Taking Back the Internet'
I was just reflecting on how different this election year is on Mastodon compared to 2020 on Twitter.
Then and there, it was a constant barrage of news, panic, vitriol, and argument.
Here and now, every couple of days I see someone post, “Yeah, Biden sucks, but we have to vote for him,” and then some else saying, “Yeah, we know, shut up.”

I've been thinking of starting a new #GhostIO newsletter as a guide to encourage more women, PoC, creatives, activists, social entrepreneurs, etc. to join #Mastodon. You know, my people from the other place.
Problem is: I can't come up with a clever name for it. Out of desperation I've turned to:
The more I use @phanpy the more I love it. One of my favourite features is the catch-up tool, which allows you to fetch all posts within the last X hours and rank them however you want.
Oldest first is particularly useful to catch up with folks in very different timezones. You can also rank by number of replies, boosts... even by "density" of information (denser posts: longer ones or those with multimedia content). You can even group posts by author.
I'm currently trying to migrate a #mastodon server from masto.host to self-hosted and having problems (I already shut down the server, so I'm posting from an old account).
Does somebody know which files in the backup are which in the mastodon migration guide?
I'm also having trouble with restoring the PostgreSQL backup ('pg_restore: error: connection to server on socket "/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432" failed: FATAL: Peer authentication failed for user "mastodon"').
Thanks for any help!
(It would be nice if someone could boost this, because given that this is an old account, I don't think many people would see this post otherwise.)
I just hit send on the Open Letter to the Speaker, Clerks of the House and Senate and the Chair of the House Procedures and House Affairs Committee. (and cc'ed to other relevant Ministers, MPs and Senator)
67 signatures included! Anyone can still add one on the web version.
Thanks 🙏 for helping to push this. There may be a third (and final!) push, but it will be Canada only.
THANK YOU!
Seit einigen Monaten zeigt meine Mastodon-App "40+ Benachrichtigungen" an - das Anzeigen der Benachrichtigungen ändert nichts daran. Ist das ein Bug in der App? Hat jemand vielleicht eine Idee? Danke!
(Ich hatte das Mitte April schon mal hier gepostet, allerdings ohne Replys ...)
