I finally got around to watching Sherlock for the first time and my suspension of disbelief shattered in the very first episode, where his Windows computer makes the Mac noise when an email comes in / is sent.

I understand that not many people like subscriptions, me included. However, to make the development of my apps sustainable at all, I had to opt for the subscription model

Now, I was thinking. If there was a one-time purchase option for getting Cork, that would cost like 30€ (not final price), and would let you keep receiving updates without a subscription, would you use that option? It would coexist with the current subscription model

The Fall of Stack Overflow: SO has lost around 50% of its traffic. This decline is similarly reflected in site usage, with approximately a 50% decrease in the number of Q&A, as well as the number of votes. The AI bots hit SO hard for sure, at least that is what I think. I still see SO as top answers in Google query but Bing is upto no good. I posted about switching to Firefox as my "daily driver" browser as a little tiny step away from Chromium browser hegemony, and I had a ton of people in the replies suggesting I should just use Brave or Edge or Opera or Vivaldi instead.

I'm a little concerned that people don't realize just how pervasive this problem is. Every single one of those sits on top of the Chromium codebase.

We have increased the limits on various actions you can do on here, such as post limits or poll option limits.

These limits were previously hard-coded into Mastodon, but since the move to glitch-soc, these were very easily extendible.

We've increased the following limits just now;

Display names, going from 30 characters, to 64.

Bio text, going from 500 characters, to 1024.

Bio fields, going from 4 fields, to 8.

Polls, going from 5 options, to 16.
