Right now seems like a good time to remind everyone that Donald Trump’s first impeachment was for withholding military aid from Ukraine until he could extort its president for dirt on Joe Biden to sabotage our election.

@Strandjunker and it was his first impeachment after he accepted help from the Russians in 2016 election also after Paul Manafort was Trumps campaign chair. Manafort spent many years getting paid to run pro-russian campaigns in Ukraine and working for other unsavory characters/oligarchs...

@RickiTarr not popular or unpopular, I played a few sports and was in clubs like chess club , German club so my friends were a very diverse group to say the least.. wore a tshirt and jeans every single day and was one of biggest people in the school so even though I leaned nerdy my friends and I were left alone by the many jackasses at my HS..

in Bush v. Gore, which effectively installed Bush in 2000.

  1. SCOTUS Intervention in a closely contested election: The Court's intervention in such a closely contested election did blur the line between law and politics. The court essentially called the election by blocking a recount of votes in Florida.

  2. Disqualification of votes: The court for indirectly disqualifying a high number of African Americans' ballots in Florida through its implementation of uniform standards for legal votes.

  3. Obnoxiously corrupt Scalia cited "irreparable harm" that could befall Bush, as the recounts would cast "a needless and unjustified cloud" over Bush's legitimacy. In dissent, Justice John Paul Stevens wrote that "counting every legally cast vote cannot constitute irreparable harm."

Note: Three lawyers who worked on the GW Bush vs Gore case are now on the Roberts, Barrett and Kavanaugh (he also worked w Ken Starr).
