More sensible Republicans — yes, there are still some in Texas — worry that their party is bent on its own destruction."

IRS Direct File is a major win for the administration that doesn’t get a lot of attention.

Giving taxpayers an option to remove themselves from the marketplace of scammy for-profit preparation services is a major victory for all parties.

Other than the scammy for-profit preparation services, I guess.

This is such a great win for the average American.

Why don't the Democrats shout out all the things they do that help average American citizens? The Dems are terrible at campaigning. Sigh....

Also, too many news organizations just don't report on the good things that government does. Sadly, bad news gets more "clicks" than good news. (Thus, the people doing the clicking are at least somewhat responsible for news orgs' focus on negativity. But news orgs ultimately responsible.)

The guy who is in charge of Threads admits that it is actively suppressing accounts, like mine, that post political content.

Don't let his measured tone fool you.

This is an outrageous and irresponsible decision.

And it is a POLITICAL decision. One that favors the status quo.

Judd Legum had an account in the @juddlegum with 106K followers (the Fediverse has no algorithm to promote or suppress posts), and instead chose to focus on his account on Threads @realjuddlegum with 77K followers. Now, he complains about the Threads algorithm which is suppressing his posts?

He should have stuck with his account.

Trump is well known for publicly bullying his #political rivals, but the former president’s campaign has also used similar tactics to launch private, relentless attacks against some of its own workers.

So, instead of blaming Republicans for the political difficulties they cause, they blame for failing to control Republicans’ bad behavior."
