My notes in are slowly growing while preparing for the exam using the preparation course.

While I assume that the little quizzes don't represent the questions in the exam, they give me somewhat of an indication where I'm at.

Pretty much all of them were easy, but once they're gonna ask me for statistic numbers, I might be screwed.

flori,
@flori@metalhead.club avatar

@stvfrnzl I did that exam recently. Don’t know whether I’ve passed yet. There were very few questions about statistics and many more than expected about “Universal Design for Learning”.

The deque stuff is good prep, but you should also check out the cpacc body of knowledge document. https://www.accessibilityassociation.org/resource/IAAP_CPACC_BOK_March2020

Project announcement incoming! I'm happy to announce that @Myriam and I launched Neurospicy. It's an agency, a boutique consultancy and a project dedicated to neurodiversity - all rolled up into one.

It's still a MVP, but the idea is to have a place to offer different content around neurodiversity, including training, socks, and stickers. I have no idea where this is going, and honestly, this is the most fun part, dopamine rush?

Good news for Project Tapestry backers - we started sending out Wallaroo annual subscription codes yesterday for backers at the Linen level and above. If you backed at those levels and haven’t gotten an email yet, check your spam folder!

Additionally, if you've had problems receiving the code, try again! We were experiencing an issue with the system to distribute the codes initially but we believe it's been resolved. Thanks for your patience!

It's this variance of accents/dialects just within the UK that always makes me question why people want to "lose" their accent when speaking English as a second language.

https://front-end.social/@sarajw/112138870060262029

I sort of get it - and I know people even within the UK sometimes work hard to lose their regional accent.

But, as someone with a nondescript home counties accent in my English (and similarly Stockholm in my Swedish), I sometimes wish I had a hint of something more interesting in the way I speak.

Loving seeing all these redesigns in my timeline. Usually that would make me think “ooooo maybe I should just…” which inevitably spirals into a nuke and pave of my entire site.

Not this time though. I don’t think I’ve ever been more happy with the design of my site, and with @getkirby at the back end, it’s perfect. 👌

Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with though.

Reading Peter Pan, as for some reason I never did, never even saw the Disney cartoon.

It's sort of also a research reading, to see if I can read it to my children. The language isn't archaic, but the turn of phrase even within the first chapter or two is already full of reference to how things were in the early 1900s, I wonder if my kids will be able to grasp the meaning.

Or am I doing them down? I must have had old stories read to me? I read What Katy Did as a child. And the Just So Stories.

flori,
@flori@metalhead.club avatar

@sarajw I read the Struwwelpeter and Max und Moritz as a child. Creepy illustrated stories about misbehaving children getting what’s coming to them from like 1850. But I loved them!

Online media can be overwhelming. It's fragmented between countless services, websites, social networks, and apps.

You need an app that weaves together an overview of nearly everything that’s happening across all the different services you follow.

That’s our vision for Project Tapestry, the new Kickstarter we're launching today.

With loads of help from @darius and some sleuthing about how to get around CORS (thanks, Netlify _redirects!), I'm no longer relying on a 3rd party to parse the RSS feeds into the little dashboard:

https://rs.sjoy.lol

I have chosen these feeds at random, I don't know if I'll try and make it too clever - I guess I could save the chosen feeds into local storage, so anyone could set this up per machine? Dunno.

Anyway, feel free to fork or whatevs: https://github.com/sarajw/rss-joy

Anyone know of good online tools that take in an RSS/Atom URL and spit out simple HTML?

I've found https://rss.bloople.net but it doesn't seem to like every feed I give it. Ditto https://nerdiedad.com/tools/rss-to-html. https://www.rssdog.com is a bit too opinionated and styles the output.
