@girlonthenet the amount of time and frequency depends on what sort of partner, but: regularly listen to what they're saying

not just waiting your turn to speak, not background attention, not hearing what you want to hear, but actively listening

it's harder than it sounds for most people further into a relationship

today, january 20th, I thought I'd post my three personal rules for in an year:

  1. vote your heart and your principles up and down the ballot in the primaries/caucuses

  2. vote for maximum harm reduction in the general, holding your nose, whatever you need to do

  3. vote by mail, vote absentee, vote in person with an N95. whatever you can manage. always

This is the first time since probably 2008 (for iPod touch 2nd gen, the good one) that I haven’t been a day one new Apple device person but you know what, I’m fine waiting. It isn’t even the money. I could buy it with cash no problem. But it’s the principle of not having a way to test it in advance and no clear use case that has me concerned. A friend did get one and I’ll try hers out on the 2nd and I might have FOMO, but like, I gotta be honest, I haven’t been sold on it yet.

    I think if I get to moving day without having a breakdown it will be a miracle. We still haven't sorted our van out because of the amount of ID you need. MIL can't look after little one on her own all day so they're spending the day with us doing the move. We lost ALL our tips days due to Mr F covering management sickness at work so I'll have to organize someone to collect it all. Things I asked for help with still aren't done for irritating reasons. I'm fast running out of time ...
