So there's always the debate between QWERTY and alphabetical keyboards, but everyone is missing the obvious way to solve this disagreement.

There's no reason the alphabet HAS to be in that order. It's arbitrary, and English would work almost completely the same if the alphabet was in a different order, you know?

So, let's just put the alphabet in QWERTY order!
It'd solve all our problems from Q to M.

For the first time since 1992 (when I was 12) I’m completely disinterested by the UK General Election.

Sunak and the Tories will lose, Labour in uninspiring, the Lib Dems weedy, Greens weak and SNP weakened, and Reform simply grim. And Brexit is the elephant none of them will touch.

As I’m still a UK citizen I will vote, but it’s with less determination than ever before.

When I left Twitter, I worried that it would impact my ability to make a living.

That worry was unfounded.

Would I be doing better if I was still on Twitter? Perhaps. But looking at my #ryoms visitors on Kickstarter, it's clear that the fedi is a more than adequate replacement.

Rishi Sunak has decided there's unlikely to be any better news coming before the end of the year & things could get even worse....

Does he also like the symbolism of July 4th - independence in this sense from what? people are going to have fun with that.

But, we're now going to see the Right wing press swing into full attack mode, leaving the Q. has Keir Starmer so reduced Labour's profile as to present only a narrow target?

The git zine might have set a record for number of beta readers who helped out with it: we had 66 amazing people read drafts of the zine, ask questions, tell me what’s confusing, and what they learned!

The beta reader process helps us SO much to keep the things that are working and fix the parts that aren’t.

Early readers are everything.

Not just for technical things either! For years, a note on my wall said "Do not write so you can be understood; write so you cannot be misunderstood." Early readers illuminate how many ways I fail... which yeah, kind of sucks, but it's so much better to find those things BEFORE publishing!

If you're not sure about if you have valid ID for getting to vote (because of the Tories bullshit voter supression laws), then just apply for a postal vote.

Then you can vote against the Tories with ease.

As well as registering for a postal vote, it's worth making sure you have photographic ID.

There's a list of accepted ID here, as well as a link to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate.

Veterans ID still will not count. Something the Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer apologised for and said he would aim to rectify. But was denied, as broadening the accepted ID would allow more students and younger people to vote.

Senior citizens can use travel cards. Youngsters can't.
