Isle of Wight based picture seller. I run a small gallery selling my husband's landscape photography. Previously I worked as a project worker in a centre for the homeless and rootless and later in homeless prevention/tenancy support. I tend to post photos of the Isle of Wight , boost other photos that appeal to me, share what music I'm (and others I follow) are listening to. In my case it's usually rock! Give me nature, animals, music, vegan food, Coventry City FC and I'm happy!

My husband had to wait for 6 years to capture this view of .

Taken as the set at 4.30 am last summer. This shot is only possible a couple of times each year. He almost had it in 2016 but it was slightly too breezy and the telephoto lens couldn't keep in focus.

It causes controversy as some think it's fake, I promise you that it is not. It involved much research, persistence and luck with the weather! It's the cover shot on our 2024 calendar

This was one of the first images I posted when I joined Mastodon last year and it seems appropriate for today's Autumn Equinox.

My husband headed up on the to photograph the fog rolling in at sunset.
The sheep have a fabulous view up there.

This is hot off the press as my husband only took this shot 10 hours ago. I posted a pic of the camera in action up there last night!

Unusually the internal lights are on inside the lighthouse, I think maintenance was being carried out on it. This location often records the highest wind speeds in the UK when it's stormy. It was the complete opposite of that last night, so calm!

We had wonderfully clear skies at on the last night, so my husband headed out to photograph the

The Island is a great place for photography as we have little light pollution over the majority of the land and seacape.

I'm a day late for this week. I'm posting this as it was taken yesterday (by my husband), so on a Sunday 😉

Last night's sunset was absolutely incredible, it seemed to fill the sky over the entire but this was at

This isn't something we see that often from the but the weather conditions yesterday were perfectly clear.

These wind turbines are situated near Brighton, some 50 miles or so away. We were up on . I posted a video from there yesterday afternoon.

The Nab Tower is in the picture which is a well known Solent landmark.

This is #Sandown on the #IsleofWight It's a tourist hotspot and the beach is usually pretty crowded in the summer.

This isn't the case during the winter and my husband had the beach to himself when he took this view. Well, except that I was there too 😄
Despite my hashtag I've just remembered that it was a #sunrise !!

An image taken almost literally from our doorstep. Our little Gallery is next door to the white building beyond the church.

The first sunset worth photographing for weeks. My husband headed off with the camera and I enjoyed an evening walk.

I love this view, it's my favourite part of the Island, right at it's southernmost tip. I can pretty much guarantee it won't be one of his most popular images when we get it into the Gallery tomorrow but it's one that I'd choose - if I were one of our customers that is 😅

Taken a few hours ago.

Many yachts have completed , others will be out on the water for a while longer yet.

My husband has now got hundreds of shots to go through. It was tricky today as waiting for the light to hit and some yachts to be in a pleasing position took a great deal of time. Far easier when you can plan a shot, rather than having to go with whatever the weather and the occasion throws at you!

on the taken late afternoon on Sunday.

I'm not sure how a beach manages to have an Autumnal appearance, but the quality of the light definitely made it feel that way.

I enjoyed a paddle with my wellies on while my husband snapped this 🙂

This image, taken yesterday was supposed to be a big moon telephoto shot, but the weather scuppered that plan.

In the end my husband just had fun with the camera trying to get starbursts on the street lights. Apparently a small aperture does the trick.
