I think the #fediverse is the kind of thing that has to happen to a social system like the Internet to force you to be engaged, more self-sufficient, and not reliant upon the largesse of government subsidies and vampiric commercial entities.
"Cox said that Emu can make “really amazing quality images” thanks to “Instagram being the data set that was used to train it” which he described as “one of the great repositories of incredible imagery.”"
This is a great reason for people to switch over to alternatives like #Pixelfed
The nice thing about Pixelfed/Mastodon is that I often open it to post something, yet end up spending an hour or more looking at the amazing, invariably uplifting, informative, positive and uniquely human content that's being shared, before remembering, 'right, I wanted to post this one photo'. That never happen{s|ed} on other social media. #pixelfed#Mastodon
"At least two digital media companies are exploring the fediverse as a way to take more control over their referral traffic and onsite audience engagement." The Verge and 404 Media will both support ActivityPub and the fediverse. #Fediversehttps://werd.io/view/665233a622e6230d5c0d69d2
I just want to say that one thing the #Fediverse has consistently shown me is that no matter how much time and effort I put into my accounts here, I am consistently rewarded far more than my effort both literally and metaphorically, by some of the most generous and gracious people with whom I've ever had the privilege of conversing.
@Alice, @BobWilliams, @zymenchlora, @GayDeceiver, @HCBunny, @theropologist, @JoParkerBear, just to name a few - these are just some of the people here that have stood by me and my little family, several of whom going as far back as when I arrived during the Great Exodus of '22.
I gotta admit, I am very much enjoying @ghost's ActivityPub progress newsletter.
Last week they were having an existential crisis, this week they're saying it's our fault as the users, that ActivityPub is so hard.
(I'm paraphrasing the most dramatic part without context for the read receipts)
Tumblr promised ActivityPub support and then disappeared for 2 years. Ghost promised ActivityPub support, and then their engineers appear each week to tell us how they regret that decision. #activitypub
Morning all my peeps on the #Fediverse. Happy Saturday and hopebtye day is going well for y’all so far.
Let’s get together and have our #KoffeeWithKyle chat and see what our plans are for today.
Currently drinking my morning coffee. I’ll be watching the Monaco qualifying and then at 1pm EST I have the @Vivaldi Community Talk with @cliffwade. Rest of the day is free for now.
@beardedtechguy@Vivaldi@cliffwade Happy Saturday. I took my granddaughter to, now I’m sitting outside in beautiful weather having my morning coffee. The plan is to maybe go to the beach later. I should be pressure washing. We’ll see how that goes.
@Aaron Yes, it will be compatible with them, and I plan to support every fediverse Groups implementation possible!
I don't mind doing workarounds for specific projects to ensure compatibility, however it would be ideal if I could organize a working group of project developers so we can more easily discuss interop and any changes
