If you saw my post with the stamp of the rock form known as “The Pants”, here is a photo of a Polar Bear dwarfed by it, seen through its legs. I had the wrong lens on and couldn’t get a photo of the entire formation and bear. #Nunavut#Arctic#LandscapePhotography#WildlifePhotography#PolarBear
Alexey Milchakov, war criminal, co-leader and co-founder of the Rusich Group, that operated from 2022 within the Wagner Group, calls for the killing of prisoners of war.
He says that he hasn't taken Ukrainians prisoner since 2014, but killed them right away.
Milchakov is known for torturing and executing Ukrainian prisoners of war. He has repeatedly been photographed against the backdrop of dead Ukrainian soldiers. #AureFreePress#News#press#headline#Ukraine#Russia
Listen, all you Anglophone leftists who think about the world in post-colonial terms:
Palestinians are not "indigenous". There are no indigenous people in the Jordan valley, the regionhas been colonised again and again by one empire after another for thousands of years, dating back to the late Stone Age. Jews and Palestinians are close cousins, you can see in their genetic markers that today's Jews aren't very different from other inhabitants of that region.

Now when the Romans colonised the region, the Jews were quite renitent and seemed impossible to keep under control, so they eventually destroyed the temple and drove the Jews out of their land, forcing them to live elsewhere. For other ethnic groups, such measure would amount to cultural genocide, leading to their disappearance over a few generations, but not so for the Jews because of their religion. Judaism evolved to keep the culture and the people alive in the diaspora. (2/x)
@mina@shanesemler Some of the first kingdoms of the late Stone Age emerged in the Jordan valley, some of the first state wars between professional armies (as opposed to tribal wars between traditional warriors) happened there. Archaeologists have found stockpiles of spearheads, arrowheads, and slingshot bullets made from stone, in the region. I think it's just the geography--a river valley near the coast in a very arid region, of course everybody wants to rule it.
"Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze promised to pass the foreign agents law on Tuesday in its third reading, pledging to punish violent protesters in a press briefing on May 12...The Prime Minister claimed he had 'precise information' that 'violent youth groups organized by the radical opposition and financed from abroad are planning violent actions against the Georgian Parliament and police' in the next two days
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem is now banned from entering nearly 20% of her state after two more tribes banished her this week over comments she made earlier this year about tribal leaders benefitting from drug cartels #AureFreePress#News#press#headline#GOP#Politics#uspolitics#uspol
Kadyrov's son will teach Guinea-Bissau fighters how to shoot, according to the Russian media.
A delegation from Guinea-Bissau, headed by the president, who is on a working visit to Chechnya "was impressed by the way the 16-year-old son of the head of Chechnya masters weapons". One of the delegates asked Adam Kadyrov to provide him and a team of military officers from Guinea-Bissau with shooting lessons, inviting them to his country for joint training. #AureFreePress#News#press#Kadyrov
It is wild to me that the #NYT would call the right to be free from social consequences a “fundamental right” and it presumably made it past multiple reviews.
It is directly in conflict with First Amendment rights of free speech and association.
Which is the core set of (truly) fundamental rights which underpins their entire organization.
It’s a warning. No, like many other institutions which are critical to democracy: the Press cannot save us either.
