▶️ #ObjectPascal with #FreePascal: Used for CTRAN for easy development and portability. Honestly, I'm really enjoying it; it fits my needs and makes my brain happy.
▶️ RAM upgrade for 3mx to 4MB: Trying to source old DRAM isn't easy.
▶️ RAM upgrade for 5mx: Got the DRAM. Just need to solder it in place.
Some landscape renders made with Bryce 3D come by on Mastodon this week and it reminded me of the first landscape renderer I used: VistaPro.
It was was one of many #DOS programs on the "Virtual Reality Madness" compilation disc from 1993. VistaPro also came out on Amiga and Mac OS, and later Windows.
VistaPro (v1.01) didn't give you much control but the results looked stunning then, if you allowed your computer to render the highest quality image for a few hours that is.
Happy #Avril14th, everyone! This is a small cover of the song I made with Adlib #Tracker that was rather popular in the #DOS era. With modern computers, you can run it with DOSbox.
Better yet, there's a piece of hardware called the #RetroWave OPL3 that allows you to connect a REAL SoundBlaster-era FM chip to your computer. So you don't have to emulate the sound, you get the genuine version.
Jeze here. I'm a #horror aficionado with it being my favorite form of entertainment both in film and literature. I enjoy writing and reading particularly short stories with #StephenKing being my favorite. Currently been playing with an idea I've had in my head for ages for a story called "Eternity."
As for music I'm into rock, metal, and punk with two of my favorite bands being Alkaline Trio and Slipknot. They both offer those goosebump inducing hooks. I'm also a guitarist but never had a home in a band of my own.
I'm a gamer at heart with a penchant for #Nintendo and #retrogaming. I grew up with Nintendo franchises, and they hold a special place in my memory. #DOS era gaming for PC being my favorite time period with titles like #DooM and #Duke3D. Later on #EverQuest would be my escape from reality and living my dark elvish vampire dreams. I knew far too much dark elvish to be considered a healthy person.
I believe #birds to be precious and should be protected at all costs. They are perfection. They are the only dinosaurs to rise from the ashes of the Chicxulub asteroid which is pretty metal if you ask me. They were here first and the Earth is their planet. Us mammals have no right to pillage their ecosystems the way we do.
I'm currently finishing "The Heart of Salamanderland" for the Amstrad CPC, that will have a physical release by PolyPlay (see my Brick Rick for an example!).

Moi je sais que j'ai pris goût à l'admin sys parce-que mon père m'avait poussé à utiliser les tutoriels de #Works sour #DOS, à peu près au même âge, mais bon…
