I just learned there is a type of #bird in #Japan called Shima Enaga and it is so goddamn #cute I'm pissed that I'm just now learning about it. Look at it. LOOK AT IT! IT'S MADE OF SUNLIGHT AND SASS!
You know when you have a video loop, but to make it loop something disappears in an improbable manner?
And you think, that's a shame, because I really like this little clip.
And you could crop it so, for example, a bird doesn't disappear in mid-flight, but then it looks unbalanced so you need to find some unobtrusive way for the bird to disappear so it appears natural?
Ms 11 invented a game where she and I insult each other using #bird names. "Go do your homework, you meadow pipit!" "I already finished it, you red winged blackbird!" "Hey, American wigeon, dinner's on the table" "Listen up, you scarlet tanager, you kinglet, you roseate spoonbill!" And so on. It's the best.
A little sweet whimsy on a super hot day! It was 99 a few hours ago with a "feels like" of 114. I do wonder how the birds survive this heat when we have to go out every 2 hours with ice and mist to keep our chickens alive.
I looked out of the kitchen window and saw something large and strange on a neighbour's roof. I took my camera, looked more closely and, wouldn't you know it, it's the Black Stork!
I immediately went to the house to take some photos of it on the roof. It really doesn't care about people at all.
The owners hadn't noticed it either. They only came out because they saw us taking photos.
