From 2019, before the last year's hellish escalations, a short film by an American-Palestinian climber visiting local climbers in the West Bank. It could so easily be trite (ignore the blurb text below the video), but it's actually brilliant: powerful, joyful, enraging and sad. Watch all 37 minutes of it. #Climbing#ResistanceClimbing#Palestinehttps://watch.reelrocktour.com/videos/rr17-resistanceclimbing
Thanks to my mate Felipe for persuading me to rock climb after an absence of about 10 years! We did the marvellous 5 pitch Espolon Cerro del Toro outside Motril.
I felt really comfortable apart from the last 4+ slab which stretched my ageing (has-been) ability to it's maximum in my scrambling approach boots. Rock slippers would have been much easier. A nice 60m abseil to finish.
Brought back a lot of happy memories today & proved that there is still life in the old dog 🤣
Hey @godotengine, look at this cutie @fahrstuhl made for my birthday! 🤩 Complete with wobbly eyes, which obviously is a must-have these days! (CC @kenney)
> We will talk through the AMGA Rock Rescue Drill and hopefully cover a ton of good info regarding what to do if shit gets weird. Lowering an injured climber, counterbalance rapping to an injured climber, rapping with a climber, hauling a climber up, knot passes, etc.
Lol the extremely ungraceful exit as I finish a route, slip while deciding whether to downclimb, and hit the ground (well, the mat) with a loud grunt. #climbing#bouldering
I'm still suffering from the side effects of the clock change and my energy levels in the morning are not what they were last week, but I still went #climbing today and found a new fun project to work on.
I really like those grips, even if they are on a route above my level 😅
🧗🏻♂️ After looking at climbing anchor practice rigs sold online, I decided to make my own. Allowing for extra hardware it did work out a bit cheaper💸. Wing nuts on the back allow easy repositioning of bolts. Great for practicing anchor building and other setups in the shed! #climbing
When you're failing a lot and feeling hopeless, watch this.
She failed every day for six years, until she didn't.
Also note how she says that she sees climbing as learning and she loves the process. Enjoy the process and don't be attached to outcomes. Intrinsic motivation is the killer app.
