Does anyone have a good source for some really different and out-of-the-box #DnD#D&D #5e#fantasy deities who aren’t just reskinned versions of real-world gods & goddesses? Or do you have a unique #homebrew#pantheon that you’d like to share? Looking for inspiration for a new setting and I don’t want all the deities to just be Mercury, Mithras, and Morrigan clones (again)
I'm running an "all bards" #dnd#5e one shot this weekend, set in the dwarven city of Kassiter. Our party are all sixth-level elven bards, who are a musical act on a concert tour.
It's only a few days until their big performance at the Damukhet Sazzarin Stadium in Kassiter's upper city, but they've just discovered their musical instruments and other gear has been stolen by parties unknown.
They're going to have to go hunt down their gear, find those responsible, and all before the big show.
Asking for a DM new to #5e#dnd. Running the Essentials Kit and a player wants to be a dragonborn or hexblood. These aren't in the classes available. My worry is that they both seem super overpowered for a first level character. Am I wrong?
Don't be shy, post a full age bracket you're looking for/comfortable with
eg Looking for ages "16-mid 20s", Looking for ages "18-30", "under 30 only please"
There's no harm, no foul, in being upfront with your comfort lvl
It's just courteous, and saves time.
We get it that y'all don't want to play with ppl too close to your parents age.
There's no shame in that
It's just bothersome for older folk to apply for an interesting sounding campaign, only for us to hear back days later something along the lines of "you're too old"
Avanti! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZAmuX-xYUk
Jemand Interesse an #TashasCauldronOfEverything (engl. Ausgabe)? Würde das Buch gerne gegen (engl. sprachigen) OSR, Adnd (1st 2nd)-Krams oder irgendwas obskures tauschen. Ein Modul, ein zerlesenes Regelwerk. Whatever. Foto) geliefert. Freu mich auf Tauschangebote ☺️ Super-Hashtag #PnpdeSwap do your Magic! #PnpDe#dnd5e#5e#dnd
William and Brian are covering seven different items that pack a serious punch no matter what type of D&D game you're running. https://youtu.be/gmhfTvopwMg
One of the mechanics I really like in Baldur's Gate 3 is the way they handle inspiration. Specifically, it had automated the triggers for inspiration to hang off of character backgrounds, and tie into events in play. So, for example, if a character has the "Urchin" background, then they get inspiration when you deal with the leader of the tiefling urchins, or do things that are clever and shady.
They don't unpack this much, so it can SEEM random, but it's nicely deliberate.
Things to steal from BG3 for your tabletop D&D game:
Allow Inspiration to accrue
Come up with a couple triggers for earning inspiration based on the backgrounds at your table.
Communicate those flags to the table so everyone can share in giving rewards.
Declare DCs before players roll, so they can make informed decisions about currency expenditure (and to force you, as DM, to be more deliberate in what your rolls mean) #dnd#5e#bg3
