🌵 🌧️ We've had #RAIN twice in a week... be still, my heart!! (You might have to live in the #desert to understand the thrill.) Clouds this evening are quite a show. Wish I could capture closer to reality, but this is as close as I can get. #Arizona#ChiricahuaMountains

Under a full moon, with the constellation of Orion overhead, this is one of thirteen ghostly "Last Supper" (1984) figures by Albert Szukalski at the Goldwell Open Air Museum in, appropriately, the ghost town of Rhyolite, Nevada. (Photo made by human, #NotAI: 3/27/2021.)
2019 was such a great year for wildflowers! #opcOnThisDay we enjoyed several great blooms in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park after meeting up with some nomadic friends who were passing through.
#ThrowbackThursday to September 2014 and a peaceful wander in the sand dunes, when monsoon clouds helped to keep the temperatures tolerable. A strong wind blew fine sand over the ridges. I love the subtle tones and colors of this moment.
A mama roadrunner, Meep, used to live in our big metal dino's mouth, & she & her baby daddy, Dart, raised more than one bebe there. We used to put out fresh water & black soldier fly grubs for them every morning, & Meep came to trust us to the point that she'd bring her fledglings to the patio & feed them. Sadly, they've all moved on, but I was lucky enough to get a video of her feeding one of her little ones. Here's a clip! #birds#roadrunners#BirdsOfMastodon#SoCal#desert
Yesterday was a purrfect day to explore Anza Borrego State Park with @wobs. We covered a lot of ground in 12 hours door to door! So many shades of color and warm sunny air to soak in ❤️ The Galleta Meadows sculpture collection, overlook hike, twisty mountain drives, and a gorgeous moonrise into dusk! Julian Pie as our reward for getting back to the beach cat fort!!
My friend took this amazing picture of the Scorpion and Grasshopper metal sculptures at Galleta Meadows in Anza Borrego State Park. I had to reply to my earlier post from a recent trip out there and share-it's so cool! I hear the wild flowers are starting to pop now too ❤️
