@jax It sucks you can't subscribe to #PeerTube stuff from #Lemmy. Simply having the ability to pull hashtags into your feed would be a nice touch. Or just letting users subscribe to things via #RSS could help.
I comment on PeerTube stuff from #Friendica but don't see any (dis)like counts and only some of the comments. If the video post is looked at from #Mastodon, it seems to display all the comments, #Pleroma shows the same limited few as Friendica, and #Misskey shows most of the comments seen on PeerTube. But none show any (dis)like counts from PeerTube, the ones they do show are limited to how likes are distributed for that software.
As far as Lemmy votes are concerned, they display and function quite nicely within Friendica. I shows me the same number of both up/down votes as likes/dislikes as I see if I look at them on Lemmy.
Maybe one day somebody will unlock the secret for full interoperability amongst all ActivityPub services. Till then, we're just stuck trying to find ways around the limitations we have.
#TIL that @semaphore (fork and continuation of Pinafore) can can support more than one account in the same browser. Check out a running example here: https://semaphore.social
Also that it may be able to function as a web app for Friendica, as well as Mastodon. I'm having a few teething problems, but I'm hoping that I can now flip over to my Friendica account to post long rants, and then flip back to my Mastodon account to boost them 😀
Since Mastodon's limit on characters doesn't allow lengthy Posts I have in mind on some subjects I pondered starting a #blog . Checking The possibilities of The #fediverse I am a little Bit crushed with information. I found Websites saying #friendica#writefreely#plume or #socialhome would be for blogging, but couldn't find much Else, since Most explanations are about Mastodon.
Could someone pleased #help and elaborate where The differences are, or give some pointers? 😊
Hallo
Does it exist? An alternative user interface for #mastodon with a user experience similar to traditional social media (main stream containing only posts, answers displayed as threaded comments)?
Basically:
I always miss messages (especially answers) with microblogging, and it does not highlight images enough
The content is now on Mastodon, more generally on the #fediverse
I don't see the point of having a project which re-implement ActivityPub when the only thing to change is the #UI#UX
@hankg I have to be honest and say it's been at least 5 years since I last looked at the UI of #Friendica. But my main point here was, I see many projects in the Fediverse re-implementing ActivityPub etc. while what I miss is just a better UI. No need to re-implement all the back-end logic, contacts management, settings, etc. I would just be a different front-end, not a full new project.
Not the first huge player clamping down on it's API killing off 3rd party apps and burning bridges. This seems to be the nature of silos (or so called walled gardens).
If only there would be a solution to this dilemma. Something interoperable. Ideally without an API at all.
Thanks @nev. Entering an image description on #Friendica is not easy. I could only do this manually as an attached image. But then the picture would be at the bottom.

Is there someone who can help me about #friendica?
I'm kinda hopeless 🌚
Basically I can't open the settings of a forum account of mine on venera.social, all I get is a "Forbidden" alert. The thing is Friendica is a bit weird to me so I literally don't know how to reach the admins
I just had a bit of a look at kbin.social and I have to say, kbin looks really impressive!
If you've never heard of kbin, it's a fediverse platform specifically focusing on groups. Broadly speaking, similar to lemmy, the goal is to create a fediverse take on the reddit experience. However, kbin also integrates fediverse groups like gup.pe, chirp and friendica groups, and that is a killer feature as far as I'm concerned!
We've been running a lemmy instance for a few months now, but it might be time to look at spinning up our own kbin instance too!
#Friendica bietet. @kuketzblog@imke
How do you see the integration of link-aggregation and microblogging?
Thinking about the future where Microblogging and link-aggregation sites on the fediverse have grown, how do you see them integrating?...
