Weird. I took a panoramic shot of a view from the coast using the phone held in landscape. It seems my phone doesn't do panoramas unless the phone is rotated into portrait

The December-January period was pretty bad here in Orkney, it felt like it'd never stop, every couple of days there would be a new storm, ferries barely left for weeks. The constant battering this place gets will get to you (I get grumpy after about 3 weeks of it, so I do understand)
It will pass eventually. You shall have the long nights and calmness in your home back again.

Safely back on Arran after an excellent week on Anglesey catching up with the Nord Anglia expeditions team and doing an advanced wilderness first aid course. Made it back to Arran by the skin of my teeth last night. #StormPia is still making her presence felt here. This probably isn't of any significance to non Arranachs, but it's causing quite a bit of excitement here- the sea is eating the road at Whiting Bay, and with the Ross Road closed, getting to the South of the island is a bit of a mission. Also, "Dave the rave roving the rock" is a local institution, that probably doesn't travel so well either, but we love him...
