Embracing Diversity: Supporting Trans and Gender-Diverse Children
In a rapidly evolving world that increasingly recognizes and embraces the diversity of human experiences, it is crucial for parents to deeply understand and actively support transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse children.
Actively listening to our children about their #genderidentity is crucial, as they may express it as early as preschool age. Their words and actions should be respected and acknowledged, providing a safe and validating space for them to explore and express their identity.
Seeking guidance from #gender#therapists and #LGBTQ+ organizations can provide valuable #support and #resources throughout this journey, including assistance in navigating challenges and accessing appropriate care.
"#ThisBookIsGay" by #JunoDawson. While not specifically focused on #parenting, this informative and accessible book explores various aspects of #LGBTQ+ identities, including #transgender and #nonbinary experiences, and can help parents better understand and support their child's journey.

Let's ask why they did this? #trans#nonbinary#adhd#add@actuallyautistic
#Trans and #intersex people have been around since humans (or maybe even our pre-human ancestors) could think about and articulate the concepts of #gender and #sex. With gender norms came people who defied them, or simply didn’t fit the definitions. There has never been a culture or a period without #nonbinary people, without non-cis people, without intersex people. We have as many names as there are stars in the sky.
