Authorities are reportedly responding to a warehouse fire at Tel Hashomer military base the afternoon of May 14. The cause of the blaze is currently unclear. There are no immediate reports of casualties.Heightened security and localized transport and business disruptions are likely in the affected area over the coming hours. Officials could evacuate nearby premises as a precaution.
There are no reports of what caused the fire, but it's one of the largest weapons storage locations in Israel.

A special State Dept panel recommended Secretary of State Blinken disqualify multiple Israeli military & police units from receiving US aid after reviewing allegations of serious human rights abuses. But Blinken has failed to act according to current & former officials.
They include reports of extrajudicial killings by the Border Police; an incident in which a battalion gagged, handcuffed & left an elderly Palestinian American man for dead; & that interrogators tortured & raped a teenager who had been accused of throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails.
The recommendations came from a special committee of State Department officials known as the Israel Leahy Vetting Forum. The panel, made up of Middle East & human rights experts, is named for former Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., the chief author of 1997 laws that requires the U.S. to cut off assistance to any foreign military or law enforcement units — from battalions of soldiers to police stations — that are credibly accused of flagrant human rights violations.
This is the panel charged with making sure US Law is followed - specifically the Leahy Law. Flat out ignoring US Law is not acceptable, or you are no better than Trump.

For now, #abortion remains #legal in #Iowa up to 22 wks of pregnancy. The #law, if upheld, would limit the procedure to a time frame in which many women don’t yet know they are #pregnant. It has limited exceptions for #rape & #incest or if the woman’s life is in danger.
This latest legal battle comes at the end of a flurry of abortion developments nationwide that could have major implications for the presidential election in Nov.
