Live from Japan 🇯🇵
After a quick Korean BBQ yesterday, with the Team in #Japan, @jon's tour takes him to the Icelandic Embassy in Japan for a #pressconference!
We've seen the requests, and now the Vivaldi Browser is available on the #MicrosoftStore. We're happy to see the increased #Availability for our users.
I really love love love Firefox, but this message is SO annoying...
"Restart to Keep Using Firefox
An update to Firefox started in the background. You’ll need to restart to finish the update.
Your windows and tabs will be quickly restored, but private ones will not."
I don't want to restart firefox. I want to go to a website. It irks me all the time, and more each time. Maybe I should switch back to Brave of Vivaldi.
Et de la plus belle des manières 😏 Nouvelles fonctionnalités, personnalisation, sécurité, synchronisation, multiplateforme, etc. J'en passe et des meilleurs 😎

I've been using #firedox on my #android tablet and #windows laptop for years. I desperately don't want to surrender to a #chrome only world. However, Firefox's bookmark and tab functionality on android suck plain and simple. There are no non-chrome options left, so if I were to lower my trousers and bend over the desk for #Google, which #browser should I try for a little while?
My first reaction to Google IO is laughter. Throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the #AI buzz word--especially the Android part of the presentation. That wall paper thing was the worst 7 minutes I've ever spent and that I'll never get back.
The responsible AI discussion would have gone far better if Google hadn't fired Timnet Gebru and Margaret Mitchell.
Overall, there just was no strategy. #AIEverything seems scattered and reactive.
So I'd need #Edge for Microsoft services and #Chrome for Google services. I want to use neither of those. All of a sudden, #browser wars have a completely different definition.
What is #Microsoft actually good at? Going thru their key products, it is clear they don't create new paradigms, they make often buggy implementations of ideas from other people: #BASIC#MSDOS#Windows#Word#Excel#browser#Bing#Cloud#dotnet. One thing they are clearly good is building a #monopoly. So it seems what they are good at is seeing good ideas, "embrace and extend" to control it, then building monopoly profiteering.
Yeah, the thing is... it's implemented in a rushed manner all the time in many #browsers. Capitalistic #EverGreen race. They make #Firefox look like a dummy, but what if it doesn't want unstable bits to creeple up the web?
#Web, as already dunked up as it is, needs other #browser teams stamping a "done" mark on stuff that is actually complete instead of blindly following the trend of hot implementations and #LivingStandards. We shouldn't be doing these improvements a cheap public stunt, tests come first.
Is there a #firefox plugin for browser tabs that works like the chromium based tab groups to collapse, color code, etc?
Looking more for a group instead of a container style. I've looked into Simple Tab Groups, but its more containers, and cant collapse the groups I make.
