I'm setting up a server for @IronChefOfMusic . The goal is to a) learn more about admin. b) create a place anyone can post remixes without having to create an account on . c) archive the existing Drupal site to static so I don't need to maintain it!
The original Kracfive site just had chefs upload to FTP or pass around a USB stick. I think there was also a simple upload form. I'll add a form, too, for people who don't want to create an account 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳🥔🥦🥕

I wish they'd try to be a decentralized mashup of , and . a place for artists to both get their music promoted on the , post/control their music but also a way to get paid for downloads and streams. let labels run servers or have artists do it themselves, sites that can double as their public website. all while letting fans follow, listen and share on any compatible app.

👋 Fediverse folks, what do you think of adding support in or ? See discussion: https://github.com/wagtail/wagtail/discussions/9732

It’s a neat idea, a few other platforms have it as a package, we’re wondering how much interest there would be

    phiofx,

@wagtail its a great idea as it would make potentially any django / wagtail installation a first class citizen of the fediverse, expanding functionality in various novel ways

There are already several django based activitypub servers (I am aware of , , ) and related projects (, ) but it seems there is zero code re-use among them.

The other thing that's still an issue is finding a happy balance for stream audio. I've been using to stream playlists of music in the background, but individual tracks sometimes drown out my voice. Compressor needed? 😕

You want the "play any song immediately" experience. Musicians want to go viral, control their work and get paid enough to make it their full time job. We should be able to do this with , redirecting the share that goes to corporations like labels and , directly to artists.
